American Building Supply (ABS), a subsidiary of Jeld Wen, and one of the Nation’s largest wholesale suppliers of Doors, Door Hardware, Windows, and Millwork, currently has a position available for Maintenance team member to assist our Distribution division in providing value-added goods and services to our customers.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:Troubleshoot and replace defective electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical componentsObtain measurements and readings using electrical and mechanical testing instruments, including digital multi meters, meggers, amp meters, ohm meters, and phase rotation metersPerform a variety of other maintenance tasks, such as electrical preventative maintenance, tagout/ lock-out, disconnecting and removing motors, and responding to equipment down emergenciesExamine various electrical systems and make recommendations for new equipment, repairs, and modificationsMaintain records of maintenance and repair work; prepare reports, documentation, and correspondenceDraw and read electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and/or diagramsTest and maintain electric motors, variable frequency drives, alarms, and control systems to ensure proper working conditionPerform preventive maintenance (PM’s) on equipmentRepair and overhaul equipment to close tolerances with attention to detailEffectively communicate with supervisor/machine operators on the root cause of machine issuesPerform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines at the component levelAble to collaboratively prioritize tasks by what will make the greatest impact on departmental goalsAbility to program and troubleshoot PLC, AC, and servo drivesKnowledgeable in calibrating analog and digital devicesRead and interpret equipment manuals, work orders to perform required service maintenance, and electrical schematicsKnowledge of the National Electric Code as it pertains to the facility and machines within the plantUse a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing dutiesComply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areasOther duties and responsibilities as assigned on equipment
Qualifications:Preferred five (5) plus years working in electrical maintenance and repair of manufacturing related plant equipment or other related commercial equipmentRequires comprehensive knowledge of electrical and associated electronic equipment, instruments, machinery, motors and transformersTraining and Utilization of Allen Bradley components and softwareExtensive experience in PLC programming and HMI PanelsCritical thinking and exceptional problem-solving skillsProactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environmentAbility to balance multiple projects in an organized mannerAbility to work independently and in team environmentsProven trouble shooting abilities in multi-craftsWorking knowledge of high voltageTravel as required to support projects. Travel time is paidWilling and able to work a flexible schedule as neededMeets responsibilities and qualifications of a Level I and II Industrial Electrician
Previous experience in a manufacturing or similar environment is preferred, but not required.
