This is an excellent opportunity for you to join us in a role as Technical Department Manager. In this role, you will lead a highly dedicated team of 7 people whilst playing a vital part in developing our maintenance operations at our site in Kuopio, Finland.


Your role

As Technical Department Manager, you will lead and develop our maintenance operations to support the factory in Kuopio in meeting the SQDCIP targets(Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory & People).  You will manage a team of 7 people, consisting of production technicians and machine operators.  Reporting directly to the Factory Manager, the scope of the role is to develop the maintenance processes at the site in Kuopio. You will be responsible for successfully implementing TPM principles whilst ensuring productivity improvement at the Kuopio factory. You will drive positive transformation throughout the site, build and mentor effective teams and drive employee engagement, involvement, and development. Safety, Quality and Productivity will be at the heart of all you do.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop the maintenance processes by implementing TPM principles
  • Lead change in our maintenance operations
  • Ensure that the maintenance team has the required resources, skills and tools to meet the targets
  • Ensure that activities of the maintenance team are aligned to the needs of production
  • Establish department procedures whilst mentoring the team to adopt modern manufacturing practices & behaviours (including 5S, TPM, Standard Work, Problem Solving and daily accountability)
  • Increase machine uptime and reliability
  • To ensure adherence with all Compliance, Health and Safety standards and operate with integrity at all times

Your skills and experiences

  • Several years of experience in leading maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment
  • A degree in Engineering or an equivalent vocational qualification
  • Sound knowledge of TPM principles and LEAN methodologies
  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Experience in the implementation of a maintenance system
  • A continuous improvement mindset and self-driven
  • Experience with project management and change management
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken Finnish and English is a prerequisite for this role
