Job Summary:

The Technical Support Manager is directly responsible for all aspects related to the creation, revision, and publication of STP (Step) files as requested by JELD-WEN marketing for North America using 3D engineering Inventor models. A thorough understanding of Inventor is critical for success in this position. Under the direction of the Systems/Technical Manager, the Technical Support Manager supports all Autodesk software installs and assists in troubleshooting all Autodesk products used by Research and Development and across JELD-WEN, as applicable. This position includes the setup and maintenance of all computer related hardware and software used in Research and Development. As a leadership position it may also include direct management of one or more fulltime and/or part-time employees as assigned.


•    This is a mid-level position and requires some training and supervision by the Direct Reporting Manager and Director of Engineering Windows.
•    Maintain a strong working knowledge of current and future advancements in Autodesk Inventor and Vault software along with other applicable software.
•    Understanding of Autodesk Vault including Lifecycles, Properties and Document Management.
•    Provide technical support to R&D, along with other JELD-WEN departments, by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and solving issues with both hardware and software.
•    Coordinate the development and implementation of an Images execution plan to further facilitate an internal Image Rendering Program.
•    Apply educational and industry experience to develop unique solutions to problems.
•    Develop an understanding of JELD-WEN products, product categories, and product families to ensure proper image creation.
•    Troubleshoot CAD model issues as related to Autodesk Inventor and Vault.
•    Manage projects with various levels of complexity.
•    Adhere to schedules to ensure a timely completion.
•    Participate as a team member and at times lead multi-disciplinary teams.
•    Maintain a sense of urgency/responsibility daily with all projects.
•    Review projects with Senior Product Engineers and Management as appropriate.
•    Other duties may be assigned as needed.


Preferred Position Requirements:
•    Education: BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
•    Experience of 5-8 years required in the use of 3D modeling software such as Autodesk Inventor.
•    Strong background of understanding and use of Autodesk Vault is required.
•    Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly techniques used for windows and doors.
•    Functional knowledge of Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•    Collaborative and people skills are essential.
•    Problem solving and leadership skills.
•    Requires little supervision and training.
•    Proven track record for on time and complete projects.
