Job Summary:

The Technical Communications Project Manager is responsible for developing, producing, and distributing Replacement Parts Catalogs for existing products and new product launches. The project manager also assists with Technical Publications and Research and Development projects that support the overall department mission to bring reliable products to market in a timely manner.

Project management includes but is not limited to:

  • Facilitating discussions and documents project objectives and scope
  • Working with team to plan required work to accomplish the objectives and implement the scope
  • Monitoring and documents progress
  • Facilitating communication among team members and stakeholders

The Parts Catalogs Manager role includes pulling engineer drawings for each product, identifying replaceable parts, organizing content and structure of catalogs, directing the production process, proofreading, and distributing documents to JELD-WEN teams. This position works closely with R&D Product Engineers, Technical Graphic Designers, Technical Specialists, the Data Team, and Customer Care.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the production and maintenance of replacement part catalogs for North America product lines
  • Act as project leader on projects to ensure a clear project scope is articulated and documented and all activities associated with a project are completed and meet deliverable standards
  • Lead the project team in planning project tasks, milestones and deliverables – prepares a breakdown of the work following the product development process and ensures timely/correct completion of deliverables to meet project objectives
  • Facilitate cross-functional team communications – follows up on deliverables from team members, resolves conflicts or potential “road blocks”
  • Develops documentation – compiles document content, develops project plans & timelines, collects/maintains key deliverables, manages communications
  • Follow established guidelines; writes, maintains, and publishes documents related to departmental projects


Key Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2-4 years of related work experience; or 7-10 years of closely related work experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills; problem solver
  • Understanding of project management principles and project lifecycle
  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, MS Project) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Mechanical aptitude and window/patio door product knowledge
