JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Sr. Financial Accountant to join our growing team.

 

Summary

 

The Sr. Financial Accountant performs accounting and finance functions for several US based window plants and functional departments.  The Sr. Accountant will perform accounting transactions, account analysis / reconciliations and financial close processes to ensure the accuracy, reliability and integrity of the company’s books and records.  The Sr. Accountant also has the responsibility to ensure consistent and effective compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, Company policies and procedures and any applicable laws and regulations.  The incumbent will also support the needs of the business by providing account analysis and required financial reports to better understand financial information that may have an impact on financial and operational performance.  Essential duties of the Sr. Accountant include but are not limited to:

 

  • Execute daily, weekly and monthly accounting activities to ensure timely workflow and recording of all financial transactions.
  • Perform activities related to the monthly closing process for several US-based plants and functional areas.  Responsibilities include running reports, preparing journal entries, preparing accruals, account reconciliations, creating standard work and improving the accuracy and timeliness of the close process.
  • Performs processes and controls to ensure the proper valuation of inventory and accurate reporting of cost of sales.  This includes accounting and analysis related to labor and overhead costs. 
  • Day to day involvement with operations to support them as needed.
  • Extract, review, analyze and compile information from a variety of financial and non-financial systems.
  • Perform analysis and process transactions related to construction in process and other capital expenditures monthly.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and controls covering broad areas including data integrity, asset protection, segregation of duties, financial reporting, information systems and adherence to corporate policies (GAAP, SOX compliance, etc.).
  • Maintain effective communication between plant, finance and leadership.
  • Identify and execute on opportunities for process improvement and information sharing to improve financial decision making.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or relevant discipline required.
  • Minimum two to three years of experience in a finance or accounting at a manufacturing company and /or public accounting.
  • Has a fundamental understanding of accounting concepts including the interrelation of the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the company.
  • Team player who is organized, a self-starter and pays attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with SAP, HFM/Hyperion/OneStream consolidation tools and data analytics tools.
