Summary

 

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for overseeing payroll procedures and ensuring compliance with all compensation regulations.  The role is responsible for ensuring payroll controls are followed and performing audits after each payroll run.  This role will be a contact for customer inquiries, providing excellent customer service. 

Responsibilities

 

  • Research and resolve employee inquiries
  • Review payroll simulations and reports to identify outliers and ensure reasonableness of all data
  • Perform real-time root cause analysis on issues in order to identify gaps in existing processes and assist in developing new preventive solutions
  • Report to management on payroll issues and changes
  • Strong working knowledge of all payroll systems including SAP
  • Research federal and state payroll regulations
  • Provide support and assistance to Payroll Specialists as needed
  • Documentation of procedures and processes

 

Qualifications
 

  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Accounting or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 4 years experience in processing payrolls, performing quality assurance reviews and analysis preferred
  • CPP designation preferred
  • Good analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in SAP
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • High level of confidentiality
