Summary: This position will focus efforts at Components-Thomas.  The JELD-WEN Excellence Model (JEM) is a system of tools and methods applied to improve business performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory.  Under the direct supervision of the Production Manager and JEM Leader, the JEM Coordinator is responsible to support all departments on their continuous improvement (CI) journey. Individual must be professional, have a good attitude, a strong work ethic, along with a desire to learn and teach CI concepts and processes.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 


  • Responsible for assisting and supporting the implementation of process improvements throughout the company
  • Learn, utilize and teach JEM tools to improve safety
  • Assist in creating/maintaining standard operating procedures and/or work instructions.
  • Mentor team members during continuous improvement activities and/or projects.
  • Assist and in some cases lead problem solving projects to include manufacturing, JSA, safety, quality
  • Assist with and help organize CI events: SQDCI and Hour by Hour boards, value stream mapping,5S, Kanban, Kaizen, TPM
  • In charge of maintaining information and data via spreadsheets and charts
  • Assist in maintaining rolling action items lists (RAILs).
  • Assist in other duties as requested by Managers

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Product and service knowledge, and comprehension of material and process flow
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, TITAN, etc.)
  • Ability to work and function as a team member with a wide variety of people


Attendance Requirements: Basic hours will be 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday but the position will require flexibility; weekend work, inventory counts and overtime hours upon request.
