FIBERLINE GRADER JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Responsibilities:

GRADING DOOR SKINS:

  • Sort, grade, and stack door skins as they are produced on the Fiberlines.
  • Alternate each hour with the fiberline Assistant Operator.
  • Know, and use correctly, the doorskin grading specifications.
  • Alert Fiberline Operator when fiberline is producing excessive numbers of rejects, or when line is not operating correctly.
  • Assist Operator as needed to facilitate production.  This includes knowing (as appropriate) and fulfilling the Assistant Operator duties as needed.
  • Comply with instructions from Fiberline Operator.
  • Mark full raw loads correctly.

QUALITY CONTROL AND TESTING:

  • Weigh “full opening” (doorskin weight checks), and communicate to operator (twice each hour of grading).
  • Get fiber samples every hour.
  • Do a positioning check on all skins.

PLANT CLEANUP:

  • Clean assigned fiberline areas, to include (but not limited to) fiberline, refiner area, blender area, press pit, hydraulic rooms, walkways, etc.
  • General plant housekeeping:  clean other plant areas (including outside) as directed by shift manager. 

SAFETY:

  • Always perform assigned duties in a safe manner.
  • Notify manager of any noted safety hazards.  Rectify them immediately if possible.
  • Use caution when working around operating machinery.
  • Use and understand JELD-WEN lock-out/tag-out procedures when repairing or cleaning machinery.
  • Keep informed of all hazardous materials used in the plant, including their proper use and handling.

MISCELLANEOUS:

  • Comply with all reasonable manager requests and instructions.
