SR. Production Specialist- Coordinate CLEAR TO BUILD for Interior Production 

Position Title:Schedule and Inventory management  
Department:Warehouse Building 1 and 2  
Location: Kissimmee, FL - JELDWEN Door Systems  
Reports To: Group Manager / Production Lead  
FLSA Status:Hourly / NonExempt  

 

Position Summary 

At JELD-WEN, ensure material availability for production by conducting daily rack audits, monitoring Kanban activity, reviewing sort lists, and tracking purchase orders (POs). This process allows potential material shortages to be identified early and corrective actions to be taken proactively. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Conduct daily physical rack audits to verify inventory levels and material availability. 

  • Review current and upcoming production sort lists to ensure materials are available to support production schedules. 

  • Monitor and maintain Kanban replenishment activities to ensure established inventory levels are maintained. 

  • Create missing Kanbans and submit material requests as needed to prevent production interruptions. 

  • Verify material availability using Titan, Mercantile, and other inventory management systems. 

  • Monitor purchase orders and vendor delivery dates for materials required to support production. 

  • Identify potential material shortages and communicate risks to management in a timely manner. 

  • Escalate supply issues when purchase order delivery dates will impact production schedules. 

  • Update and maintain accurate rack audit records and inventory tracking documentation. 

  • Support Just-in-Time (JIT) inventory practices by maintaining accurate inventory levels and minimizing unnecessary material movement. 

  • Assist in production schedule reviews by validating material readiness for current and future production. 

  • Ensure inventory data is accurate and report discrepancies for corrective action. 

 

Safety, Housekeeping & Compliance 

  • Adhere to all JELDWEN safety policies, including proper use of PPE.  

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and auditready work area aligned with 5S and lean manufacturing principles.  

  • Actively participate in safety meetings, ShareIts, and continuous improvement initiatives 

 

Production and Documentation 

  • Support daily production by ensuring required materials are available prior to scheduled builds. 

  • Review current and upcoming production schedules to identify material requirements. 

  • Monitor inventory levels and replenish materials through the Kanban system to maintain established stock levels. 

  • Escalate material constraints that may impact production schedules or customer commitments. 

  • Promote Just-in-Time (JIT) inventory practices while maintaining uninterrupted production flow. 

  • Maintain accurate daily rack audit records and inventory status reports. 

  • Record material shortages, inventory discrepancies, and corrective actions taken. 

  • Review and maintain purchase order tracking information, including expected delivery dates and follow-up actions. 

  • Maintain copies of current and next-day production sort lists for planning and material verification. 

 

Qualifications Required 

Personnel performing the Daily Rack Audit and Material Management Process should possess the following qualifications: 

 

Experience 

  • Experience iwarehouse materials, or inventory control environment preferred. 

  • Basic understanding of production scheduling and material flow. 

  • Experience using inventory management. 

 

Knowledge 

  • Understanding of Kanban and Just-in-Time (JIT) inventory principles. 

  • Knowledge of material replenishment processes. 

  • Familiarity with production schedules, sort lists, and purchase order tracking. 

  • Understanding of inventory accuracy and material control practices. 

 

 

Technical Skills 

  • Ability to use Titan for rack audits and inventory verification. 

  • Ability to use Mercantile to review material availability and purchase orders. 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard Microsoft Office applications. 

  • Ability to accurately collect, record, and analyze inventory data.

  • Inventory Management: Demonstrate knowledge of inventory control practices, Kanban systems, and Just-in-Time (JIT) material replenishment.

  • Analytical Thinking: Analyze inventory data, purchase orders, and production schedules to identify potential material shortages and recommend solutions. 

  • Problem Solving: Evaluate material availability issues, determine appropriate corrective actions, and escalate concerns when necessary. 

  • Organization and Time Management: Effectively prioritize daily audits, production reviews, material requests, and follow-up activities while meeting deadlines. 

  • Team Collaboration Works effectively across shifts and departments to support production goals. 

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, material flow, Kanban processes, and operational efficiency. 

  • Safety Mindset: Demonstrates consistent adherence to safety practices and hazard awareness. 

 

Work Environment Characteristics 

  • Frequent walking throughout the facility to conduct physical rack audits and verify material availability. 

  • Regular exposure to forklifts, moving equipment, production machinery, and material handling operations. 

  • Occasional standing, bending, reaching, and lifting in accordance with company safety guidelines. 

  • Requires the use of computers and inventory management systems (e.g., Titan) for data entry, material verification, and purchase order tracking. 

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, hearing protection, gloves and other required safety equipment, must be worn while in designated production areas.
