JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Senior Production Supervisor to join our growing team. 

 

Senior Production Supervisor


The Sr. Production Supervisor directs manufacturing operations through a team of functional Group Managers that oversee and implement all production operation operations at the plant by corporate Key Performance Indicators.

This position performs/acts as a Sr Production Supervisor during an absence and/or void and may act as the liaison to the PM on behalf of their respective operational Group activities and responsibilities.


Responsibilities 

  • This position will oversee and assist the Group manager in implementing the activities on the manufacturing floor, following established procedures and processes, consistent with JELD-WEN’s mission statement.
  • This position will confer with plant management to retrieve and establish updated production and quality control standards in their assigned areas of operations to effectively manage and coordinate the scheduling and timing of production.
  • Position may act as a Liaison between plant management and Production Supervisors providing feedback to include plans for current and future production requirements from raw materials to finished products.
  • This position will work with Production Supervisors in conjunction with all production and production support operations utilizing SQDCI, TPS, OTD, and Continuous Improvement activities and initiatives.
  • Assist the plant manager and SR Production Manager in establishing and monitoring overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
  • Provide leadership and training to Group Managers to accomplish plant production goals/objectives by JELDWEN’S mission statement.
  • Mentor Production Supervisors and foster a learning and growth environment.
  • Assist Production Supervisors in implementing and maintaining preventive maintenance programs, maximizing equipment use.
  • May perform other duties assigned by the Plant Manager, or Sr Production Manager.
  • Must be able to work in a TEAM environment and offer Suggestions to improve SAFETY, QUALITY, DELIVERY, COST, and INVENTORY  

 

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor’s or associate Degree in a related field and/or (3) three to five (5) years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the window and door industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, to be determined by plant management5+ years shipping and/or logistics experience to include managing a high volume, made to order product.
  • At least ten (10) years of progressively responsible work experience in the window and door industry, including two (2) to four (4) years as a Group Mgr. 
  • Knowledge of raw materials and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques preferably in the door and window industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, technical aptitude, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive process improvement techniques throughout the shipping process skillfully and deliberately.
  • Strong team skills, including the ability to coach and develop work teams and provide appropriate training on CI methods and initiatives to subordinates.

  • The ability to motivate/empower others, resolve conflict, and possess a basic understanding of management principles and concepts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills up and down the organizational hierarchy.
  • Must be flexible and able to manage multiple priorities daily.
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office and other position-applicable software applications.
  • Travel is primarily local during the business day. May on occasion travel to appropriate seminars and training.
