Job Description 

This position requires the operator to read and understand spec sheets for customer machining needs. This position requires the operator to set up the machine to route hinges, bores, holes, latches, and peepholes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

  • Review documents such as production schedules and work orders to determine the setup of the machine, including door type and size, and validate each order with the order. 
  • Assist with preventive maintenance. 
  • Must be able to read the order document to identify the material required by the customer. 
  • Perform changeovers following daily schedules to ensure the production is within the standard of the company. 
  • Examine documents, materials, and products. Monitor work processes in accordance with the standards of the company. 
  • Follow established company safety policies & procedures. 
  • Must meet the expectations of the demands and goals of each order and department. 
  • Must be required to demonstrate the ability to safely operate machinery and/or hand tools by taking specific actions per the order. 
  • Detect and report defective and rejected material to the team lead and/or manager. 
  • Monitor and maintain machines in good working condition to ensure safety. 
  • Read proper JELD-WEN Window & Doors Receipt for incoming material. 
  • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality. 
  • Keep the work area clean and organized during and at the end of the shift. 
  • Report any damage, faulty equipment, or any other safety hazards. 
  • Know door and product designs and locations in the warehouse. 
  • Knowledge about each door and its material and knowing where each material is located to complete the order. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager/team lead. 

 

Must be able to work in a TEAM environment and offer Suggestions to improve SAFETY, QUALITY, DELIVERY, COST and INVENTORY

Additional and Marginal Duties:  

May be required to work or assist in other areas throughout the facility, any additional work as directed by supervisor or lead.  Attention to detail. Be able to communicate effectively with the Team Leader and Group Manager, and co-workers. 

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Required:  Safety shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, and Arm sleeves when necessary 

Equipment Use:  Pre-use inspection forms, measuring tape, and dock equipment. 

Performance Standards:   Must be able to complete production needs in a timely manner. Employee must be able to consistently lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the day. Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift. Work overtime, including weekends as needed. 

Hazards/Physical Requirements: Noise, Pinch points, bending, dust, slip/trip/fall hazards, PIT hazards, trailer hazards. Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift. 

Certifications, Licenses, Training:  Lock out/Tag out, HazMat, Emergency Response, Slip/Trips/Fall Training
