Summary:

Under direct supervision, the General Production position performs repetitive production support operations using hand tools and associated machinery and equipment to assist in the manufacturing and of JELD-WEN products including Door Skins, and all other JELD-WEN related building products.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • General Production support personnel assist in every facet of the operation, as directed by management, to achieve the goals and objectives of JELD-WEN products.

 

  • Gather the necessary materials, use the appropriate hand tools, and operate applicable machinery and equipment in the various plant while assisting in the achievement of production goals, quotas, and objectives.

 

  • Operating machinery and affixing parts and support mechanisms to the product, trimming operations, painting both rough and finished products.

 

  • Wrap, box, stack, and package machined products, label and tally them accordingly to match appropriate paperwork and make necessary repairs to the product and load them where applicable.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to appropriate plant personnel including, direct supervisor, or inspection or quality control personnel.

 

  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations per plant policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.

 

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative, but not all inclusive, of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally move stock, materials, and unfinished and finished product in and near their work areas.

 

Work Environment:

The employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and machines, vibrations, and loud noises.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • The ability to read a tape measure accurately.
  • The ability to multiply, divide, add and subtract.
  • Previous production support experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not mandatory.
  • Must be able to be trained on basic processes and equipment and serve as a hands-on resource in Production Support.
