Major Contract Hardware Distributor is currently seeking a Counter Sales Associate to join our talented team of professionals. We have a 50-year history in supplying commercial doors, frames and hardware throughout the Hawaiian Islands.

General description of duties:

 

The Counter Sales Associate is responsible for selling items to the general public, stocking shelves, merchandising the sales floor, picking parts for customer orders and packing them in a timely manner. This position calls for someone who has high energy, a sense of urgency, is a team player, and maintains focus throughout a whole day. In addition, they must be effective at handling customers both on the phone and at the counter. 

 

Position Accountability:

 

  • Counter sales, process orders, perform inventory cycle counts and assist customers face to face as well as on the telephone.
  • Customer service experience with hardware and doors a plus.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing to determine delivery dates based on customer needs.
  • Establish personal relationships with customers.
  • Greet customers in a friendly and approachable fashion.
  • Inquires as to how the customer can be assisted.
  • Research and locate the requested part(s) and make suggestions as to other parts and/or supplies they may also need.
  • Must have the ability to talk by phone or at the counter with customers with diplomacy and tact, as well as handle their needs appropriately and efficiently.
  • Must have the ability to use the computer and be trained in basic computer skills.
