Student worker to COIN at Swedoor by JELD-WEN

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical student worker to join our Center of Intelligence department in JELD-WEN and all its brands across europe, with the workbase being from Herning.

Your role will focus on assisting with competitor monitoring and analysis across Europe. You will primarily be responsible for mapping out and continuously updating the competitive landscape in Europe, with a focus on our tier one competitors.

About the team in COIN Jeldwen

  • COIN – “Center of Intelligence” is a market intelligence department est. in 2017 in JELD-WEN.
  • Team of 3 people – soon 4.
  • Operating in Scandinavia, Finland, Baltics, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, UK and France.
  • The central role of COIN is to gather information from the external environment, report to leadership and internal stakeholders and thus to facilitate tactical and strategic decisions.
  • We are working with a variety of tasks within market intelligence; from understanding the macro environment, deep knowledge of the door market and it’s potential, competitor monitoring, as well as conducting comprehensive customer and consumer surveys.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct competitor analysis and reporting on tier one competitors, including financial performance analysis, ownership structure and evaluation of subsidiaries, products, pricing, social media activities, and assessment of competitive gaps and advantages. (You will obtain the information through paid services within the department including ordinary desk research as well as conducting internal interviews of key stakeholders)
  • Assist in evaluating market share estimations on competitor level together with the COIN team.
  • Monitor and set up news alerts on tier one competitors through our Meltwater tool and include any news into our competitor reports.
  • Assist in evaluating competitors’ next move based on your findings.
  • Support in competitor screening and transition fit assessments.
  • Apart from above key responsibilities your role will also include collaborating with the COIN team as well as a variety of internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or related
  • High analytical skills and ability to turn data into meaningful insights.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Speaking German will be considered a benefit but not a requirement.

This position is based on a workload of up to 8-15 hours per week. We therefore seek a student worker, that can work a minimum of two years in parallel with finalizing there degree. The findings will be reported to the COIN Manager.
