Job Title:
Logistics/Transportation Specialist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Plan the daily delivery schedule for the following week using Titan and TMS (Transportation Mgmt Software). 
  • Communicate load plans to the appropriate carriers. 
  • Print shipping summary pick lists daily for dock personnel to use when loading trucks. 
  • Process LTL and UPS shipment paperwork for daily pickups. 
  • Provide invoicing staff with a list of trucks to invoice daily as trucks leave the property.  
  • Escalate to carriers and Plant & Office Manager any trucks that were not picked up on time to understand when the trucks will leave the property. 
  • Sort through previous day summary pick lists for backorders and inform call centers. 
  • Re-date the backorders in Titan to enable the orders to ship in the following week. 
  • Monitor CASSPORT's 3rd party billing system to rectify any shipping invoices with discrepancies. 
  • Resolve issues with carriers/drivers if problems occur during deliveries. 
  • Review open order report to re-date orders that did not ship on time. 
  • Communicate past due order reports to Office and Shipping Manager. 
  • Resolve issues with LTL carriers (damages/returns/mis-directed freight). 
  • Monitor inter-company transfer order reports and communicate with other plants if orders do not ship from the transfer location. 
  • Generate weekly/monthly freight accrual reports and open order reports. 
  • Provide any additional weekly reporting to Management as directed. 
  • Act as a back-up to the Shipping Expediter position when PTO is taken by current Expediter. 




  • Candidate must possess strong communication skills and be able to multi-task. 
  • Computer literacy is required. 
  • Candidate must be able to work independently as well as being part of a team. 
  • Overtime as needed will be necessary in the busier months of the year. 
  • Participation in quarterly inventories on a Saturday is also required.
