External Job Description

The Role:

The Product Information Analyst facilitates the implementation of product changes and corrections; investigates and documents discrepancies between data definitions and plant production of the products; defines and communicates required changes to the data team and/or plants producing the products and performs the role of liaison between R&D, the corporate data team and Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate product change requests with R&D, Product Management and Operations.
  • Investigate reported product data issues; documents required changes to communicate with the Data Team and R&D.
  • Audit Titan Bills of Material (BOMs) for accuracy and plants for compliance with standard BOMs.
  • Manage product data projects.
  • Design data structures.
  • Review all requests related to the product lines supported that are requests for changes or corrections related to data (i.e., options, exclusions, pricing, BOM).  Categorizes the requests:
    • Changes – Determines if the change request is appropriate and whether R&D needs to be involved.  May advise the requestor that other approvals are required.
    • Data Errors – Gather all relevant information for the data team to make the correction.
    • Invalid Request – Plant is requesting a change that should not be made because of standardization, or the plant is incorrect in reporting an error; advises submitter of the correct information.
  • Work with R&D and Project Managers to ensure all relevant information is provided on engineering bulletins prior to submitting to Data team.
  • Work with submitters of information to ensure all relevant information is provided to R&D.
  • Work with the plants on product changes that are in process to identify any plant specific issues that should be addressed prior to implementation.
  • Work with the plants to implement product changes upon completion.
  • Audit Titan Bills of Material for accuracy.
  • Setup and use the automated data verification tools.
  • Audit plants for compliance with standardized Bills of Material.
  • Assist with creating standardized product documentation and keeping documentation updated.
  • Provide input on designs of new datasets for additions.

Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • BS Degree (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience with a minimum of an Associates degree.
  • Detailed knowledge of the product lines supported.
  • Experience maintaining product data in Titan.
  • Minimum of five years of work-related experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work with employees and management at all levels and promote an environment of cooperation and teamwork.

Expected pay for this role is between $64,600.00 to $107,600.00 per year and is based on experience and qualifications.​
