JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Product Certification Specialist to join our growing team.

 

 

Product certification specialist

 

We offer you the possibility of taking part of the responsibility, for our regional product Certification and Compliance to national as well as CE standards.

In this role you will find share ownership of the Northern European certification portfolio and ensure it is managed effectively.  Through this key role, it is ensured that our products are specified and manufactured to relevant legislations and comply the quality standards and functionality in line with their classification. The possibilities to simplify and reduce the effort for product approvals and required certificates, through CE marking, harmonisation of products and optimisation of the portfolio within the European Economic Area, builds another focus area.  


Role Summary

  • Manage our regional certification portfolio and processes ensuring the latest product specifications are considered, produced products are compliant with requirements, and certificates are valid.
  • Support and influence of audits and production control in cooperation with external authorities, local QM and R&D teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of national building regulations and legislation requirements.
  • Participation on technical committees / norm forums / meetings at EU level representing the interests of JW.
  • Cooperation with R&D engineers to ensure project scopes will meet the necessary legislation and compliance requirements.

 

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Further expansion of available CE marked products within the JW EU product – portfolio on basis of harmonized norms or EAD/ETA.
  • Awareness of new legal demands through changed norms or building regulations and transfer to product portfolio. 
  • Creation and managing of certification roadmaps and tactical plans to support product strategies in cooperation with Product Management and R&D.
  • Supporting the quality team with technical specification requirements to ensure the performance is complying the product classification.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the procurement department to ensure technical scopes for new items meet our certification limitations.
     

Your Profile

 

  • Experience in field of certification and compliance in building goods industry, ideally within door (wood and steel) OR in regulatory agencies and national associations that work with same matters.
  • Good knowledge for CE norms as well as national norms e.g., BS, DIN, Ö-Norm, within the EU Economic Area, in regard to classification for fire, smoke, sound, etc. as well as testing requirements.
  • Ability to develop a thorough understanding/knowledge of the Building Regulations throughout Northern Europe
  • Understanding of dependencies of design requirements and product specifications in regard to approval and certification processes. 
  • Good reporting and structuring capabilities for breaking down to required actions, agile working, and prioritisation in a complex environment.
