Lab Responsible/Test Technician

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Lab Responsible/Test Technician to join our growing team.

JELD-WEN/SWEDOOR IS LOOKING FOR A TEST TECHNICIAN/LAB RESPONSIBLE

We are passionate about doors, and one of the world's largest manufacturers in this field.

We are now expanding our team and are searching for a test technician that will be responsible for the test labs at JELD-WEN, R&D Forserum site.

As a test technician and a lab responsible you will work closely with the R&D team in our lab environments on site. Here we have both an acoustic- and fire-lab where we perform testing almost daily to ensure performance of the doors as well as testing new ideas and solutions. In this role you will ensure that the labs are well maintained, managed safely and test procedures are fulfilling current standards and future requirements! You will be responsible for the prototype manufacturing and test documentation with support from the existing team.

Responsibilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will be to:

• Ensuring test equipment is following current standards.
• Responsible for maintaining the test equipment and test procedures.
• Responsible for manufacturing samples and prototypes.
• Responsible for executing and documenting tests according to specifications.
• Responsible for assembling test objects for internal and external tests in labs according to specification described by the responsible R&D Technicians and Central Product Specialist.
• Leader of improvements in R&D lab area to improve safety, working climate, creativity, documentation, and development processes.
• Coordinating role for test technicians.

The position is full-time and based in Forserum (Sweden). You will be part of the Europe R&D team where in Northern Europe are 15 team members. (seven located in Forserum, four in Astorp, one in Denmark, Finland and in Estonia) and you report to the R&D Teamleader located in Forserum.
 

Background and personal qualities:

You have good skills in computer Office 365 and you can express yourself fluently in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

You have good knowledge in woodworking, carpentry or prototype manufacturing. As a person you are detailed-oriented, organized and a team player. You are hands-on person with good problem-solving skills and a “can do” attitude. You do also have the ability to multitask and are driven to learn new things.
