Production Specialist I (Fiberline Assistant)

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Production:

• Operate the equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Use proper start-up, operational, and shutdown procedures.
• Monitor all the operations and parameters in your area of the fiber department and take steps to resolve any irregularities while insuring maximum run time.
• Assure proper relief before departing – Overtime may be required.
• Perform die work in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform all hourly checks and document.

Quality:

• Perform, and interpret, assigned quality tests/data.
• Participate in SQDCI.
• Know and understand grading specifications and apply them to operational decisions (specifically with cosmetic inspections and weight/thickness program).
• Quality Technician:
• Operate a forklift and other equipment as necessary.
• Abide by all company policies and procedures.
• Maintain required tools for use on the job.
• Perform all other duties assigned by management.

Housekeeping:

• Perform system clean-up tasks as required.
• Maintain housekeeping throughout entire fiberline, paying special attention to assigned area
• Assure that all tools, brooms, air lines are returned to their designated areas after use.
• Dump all trash cans and empty all skin carts as needed.

Communications:

• Communicate with fiberline operator throughout the shift regarding skin quality and process conditions.
• Communicate with on coming and off going personnel to insure continuity between shifts.
• Communicate effectively with management regarding issues, adjustments, and changes that have taken place. Notify them of supply issues, maintenance needs, hazards, and accidents/injuries.
• Maintain complete and accurate written and/or electronic records and data.

Maintenance:

• Be familiar with components, sub-systems, support systems, and terminology of the equipment.
• Make rounds as directed, be watchful for worn or malfunctioning equipment, and notify the fiberline operator, maintenance and management.
• Perform/assist in maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
• Perform blade changes as scheduled or as needed on end cut saw.

General:

• Know and understand all job duties of the Fiberline Operator.
• Will be required to learn and understand other jobs in the department for coverage of short periods of time, including breaks, lunch and vacation.
