Then you might be our new Production Planner at JELD-WEN, Penrith.
This role will be focused on ensuring there is a continuous flow of materials inbound to site, to support 100% OTIF delivery for our customers. You will collaborate closely with all internal Stakeholders to ensure achievable Production Plans are produced in order to meet the requests of the Customers.
You will understand manufacturing processes and have knowledge of production milestones, KPI commitments and performance. You will be IT literate with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft software and IT platforms with the ability to work unsupervised and complete daily tasks effectively and efficiently.

What your impact will be:
Planning
- Receive and action customers production requirements.
- Assist with the formulation of a build-plan to populate production departments.
- Ensure efficiency is maximised via smooth batching and prioritisation.
- To limit equipment changeovers and operational disruption through accurate planning and prioritisation.
- Monitor production adherence to production schedules.
- Work closely with the customers and assist with any additional requests.
- Monitor stock adjustments and action next steps when required.
- Support with stock build plans of Finished Goods.
- Support with maintaining Planning KPI’s.
Purchasing
- Generate weekly raw material orders provided by the Supply Chain and Planning Leader.
- Administer the process from Order Generation to confirmation from the Supplier.
- Track open orders to ensure loads are delivered on time.
- Follow up with suppliers when required – if balances of orders still to be delivered.
- Keep system records up to date – e.g. open orders / suppliers’ details.
- Provide updates to the team on any delays / problems with materials / suppliers.
- Assist with tracking the delivery performance of external suppliers.
- Assist with maintaining/developing a robust method to ensure RM stock is accurate.
- Support the Despatch function with the administrative duties required to efficiently despatch goods to our Customers.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Planning experience essential, experience in manufacturing or production would be an advantage.
- Previous purchasing and supply chain experience.
- Previous experience of working within an ERP/MRP system, including capacity planning software.
- CIPS qualified preferable.
- Good computer skills and experience of basic business software.
- Flexible with a positive and proactive attitude with a desire to succeed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
