Mechanical Engineer

Your role

We are looking for a proactive Mechanical Engineer to join our friendly team in Penrith. Driving our Engineering activities towards world-class performance; make continuous improvement standard practice. There are training and career progression prospects as well as a great working environment. 

This pivotal role will support the site teams to ensure compliance with company legislative requirements.

Engineer Shifts operate on a 3-shift pattern.  Week one: night shift, week two: afternoon shift. Week three: morning shift. 

Key Responsibilities – What your impact will be

• Safety of yourself and others around you
• Mechanical breakdowns onsite
• Deliver on plant uptime and maintenance KPI’s through planned preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Continually improving performance of equipment and systems to support the development of the site
• Support with the training and coaching of the apprentices
• Support the site Leadership team to develop and deliver a safety focussed continuous improvement culture
• Updating and working from the site CMMS

What you'll need to succeed

• Be a team player
• Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality, Health & Safety.
• Be familiar with planned preventative maintenance.
• Experienced in fault finding and problem solving.
• NVQ3 or equivalent in mechanical engineering
• Be computer literate
• Previous experience of using a CMMS is desirable
