We’re looking for a fantastic Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Penrith.


You’ll set the standards for Engineering, operational activities. Role model behaviours in line with the JELD-WEN standard of acceptance and in accordance with JELD-WEN values and expectations.


As Maintenance Engineer, you will drive Engineering activities towards world-class performance; make continuous improvement standard practice. Educate, develop and inspire team members towards betterment and achievement.


This role will support the site teams to ensure compliance with company legislative requirements.



  • Keep machinery in production
  • Drive departments 5s campaigns and demonstrate 5s expansion as part of daily cadence
  • Promotes self-improvement
  • Received and issues permits to work and ensure engineering work is carried out to H&S, environmental and engineering standards
  • Ensure Maintenance systems are fully utilised to optimise performance
  • Support with the training and coaching with the apprentices
  • Implementation of Risk Assessments and support of HASSARD assessment
  • Work to daily Standard Operating Procedures
  • Establish improvement as a way of life
  • Leverage best practice
  • Encourage knowledge sharing across the site to accelerate improvements and benefits
  • Supports Plant Managers and Leadership team to develop and deliver an engineering continuous improvement culture
  • 3 shift system days, afters & nights



  • Practical experience of PLC fault finding
  • Strong fault diagnosis and ratification skills on electrical, mechanical, systems
  • Good knowledge of PPM and continuous improvement systems
  • IT Skills
  • LEAN techniques
  • Experience of a fast-moving environment in Manufacturing (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential
  • Essential 17 Edition qualification
