Then you might be our new EHS Coordinator at JELD-WEN, Penrith.
This role is a key member of the EHS Team, reporting directly to the EHS Manager. You will be required to coordinate and support the implementation of EHS performance plans and objectives across the site. Provide advice, guidance, and support to the site teams to ensure compliance with company management standards and legislative requirements.
You will be passionate about process improvement, self-motivated and IT literate, with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft software, with the ability to write reports, analyse data and present confidently. You will be driven, keen to learn and proactive in developing your existing skills and in return we will look to help you work towards a NEBOSH qualification.
You will be required to support EHS operational and administrative activities, with experience of driving a Safety-First culture with zero tolerance and a continuous safety improvement mentality.

What your impact will be:
- Manage Contractor Control Boards and review RAMS from EHS perspective.
- Support Engineering team with preparing documentation for contractors on site.
- Review the Risk Assessments, SOP`s and COSHH assessments on site.
- Monitor and control HAVs on site.
- Assist with accident investigations.
- Carry out face fit test - for RPE used on site.
- Control Survey Matrix on site to ensure legal compliance will be met.
- Assist with the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Audits.
- Monitor compliance for EHS internal checks.
- Carry out the practical induction on site for new starters - session in DOJO room.
- Provide Administration support for the department.
- Performing Legionella Checks - weekly monitoring.
- Carry out Air Leak monitoring for the site and address the correct actions.
- Review Fire Risk Assessment for the site.
- Carry out the internal site survey and prepare minute meeting from EHS Committee Meeting.
- Coordinate programmes to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illness and claims by showing due diligence around environmental impacts in line with European strategy.
- Assist and support personnel in safety and environmental hazard assessment including the implementation of effective control measures.
- Assist and support the management team on environmental permits for associated areas.
- Attend meetings in the absence of EHS Manager, actively participate wherever possible.
- Attend daily GEMBA walk in the absence of EHS Manager and respond to actions, escalate accordingly.
- Challenge status quo and coach colleague's help fix daily EHS issues by priority.
- Support the delivery of projects and initiatives in all EHS areas.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Previous experience conducting EHS activities is essential in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Must be IT literate with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft software and IT platforms.
- Experience of report writing, data analysis and confident in presenting essential.
- Able to plan effectively, with strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work unsupervised and complete daily tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Flexible, with a positive and proactive attitude with a desire to succeed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Can confidently work effectively individually & as part of a team.
