Plant Expeditor - Customer Service Representative

Summary: Assist with late order recovery and scheduling of production orders. Hours are Monday- Friday 7:30 A.M-4:00 P.M, overtime as needed.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Monitors and responds to merchant and customer service escalations
  • Monitors special order material
  • Dates production orders in relation to material arrival
  • Assigns orders and sends updated acknowledgment to customers
  • Generates shipping tallies and ready to ship orders
  • Updates plant communication tracker and notes orders as needed in Titan
  • Send external and intercompany communications to locate status of orders
  • Follows up with production on missed shipments and special orders that were declared “not done” at time of loading
  • Assist with TMS (trucking data base) scheduling and exporting
  • Assist with freight invoice and payment approvals
  • Understand department process flow and look for best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity

 

Other Duties:

  • Greets vendors and visitors
  • Answers and transfers incoming calls
  • File management
  • Perform data entry and other clerical functions 
  • Separate and distribute loading tallies daily
  • Other administrative duties as needed
  • Saturday work may be required

 

Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Associates degree preferred.
  • Keen understanding of confidentiality; ability to manage sensitive information with tact and discretion.
  • 6mo to 1yr related experience and/or training of logistics or chain supplies; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Pays strict attention to detail.
  • Pro-active and strong organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and work with deadlines.
  • Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point and Email Outlook).
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.
  • Previous experience in inventory control and/or distribution operations, preferred.
