THE ROLE 

The IT Systems Administrator is a key member of the team responsible for analysis, configuration, and monitoring of critical services to ensure efficient operations of JELD-WEN's server, storage, database and enterprise application environment in a highly available 24x7x365 production system.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform necessary updates to firmware, OS, or applications to ensure 24x7x365 availability
  • Check help desk system for entries on server and server resource issues; prioritize and respond to help desk tickets as appropriate.
  • Serve as cornerstone for escalating server issues; provide timely response to customer escalations.
  • Perform file system configuration and management; confirm security is set in accordance with company policy and access is restricted based on need.
  • Conduct research on server hardware, software, and protocols in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Monitor and test system performance and provide performance statistics and reports.
  • Create server scripts as required.
  • Assist with the management of enterprise directory services and supporting server infrastructure. 

 

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. May occasionally move or lift up to 50 pounds.

 

Travel:

This position may include 10 percent out of-area and overnight travel expectations.

 

Education and Experience

 Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in a server support environment
  • Minimum three years’ experience in web server support environment including JBoss EAP, MS IIS, MS .NET
  • Understanding of network infrastructure environment (i.e. LAN/WAN)
  • Windows Server 2016/2019, IBM AIX, and SUSE Linux in an enterprise environment
  • Citrix XenApp client and Windows Server Terminal Services
  • Active Directory
  • SAN experience/understanding
  • Database support including MS SQL and Azure SQL as a Service
  • VMware experience/understanding
  • Microsoft Azure experience/understanding
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve conflicts; handle shifting priorities in a flexible manner.
  • Exceptional communication skills: Influence, collaboration and expectation management to work with Global Information Technology and business teams to deliver expected results.

Desired

  • Familiarity with M365 including MS Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online
  • Knowledge and experience with Data Warehouse
  • Multi foreign language skills are a plus.
