JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Supply Chain Analyst to join our growing team.
The Role
Reporting to the Sr. Supply Chain Manager and residing within the central Supply Chain team which supports our North American Doors and Windows businesses, this position will manage the tactical execution of the supply chain as it relates to the replenishment of raw materials to JELD-WEN manufacturing facilities located across North America. This role has direct responsibility to drive improvements in Supplier OTIF (On Time and In Full), TIRA (Target Inventory Range Attainment), and Forecast Accuracy. The candidate selected for this role will be capable to effectively work cross-functionally with Sourcing, Logistics, Operations, and Accounts Payable to minimize supply chain disruptions and drive out waste from the value stream. Additionally, this person will provide leadership and direction to the suppliers they manage and internal business stakeholders as it relates to these objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Timely initiation of purchase orders in ERP system. Ensure all materials are available for forecasted and/or confirmed customer order fulfillment according to facility needs.
- Communicate with production facilities and suppliers with a high level of frequency and engagement to ensure material availability.
- Set and manage planning parameters (safety stock, lead times, forecasts, order quantities) to achieve and sustain targeted inventory levels.
- Analyze inventory variances and projected stockouts to determine root cause and take corrective actions to mitigate future reoccurrences.
- Lead shortage mitigation and recovery planning efforts to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Work closely with Sourcing Category Managers to develop and execute sourcing strategies that align to our Lean materials management strategy and improve the velocity of raw material flow throughout the value stream.
- Manage transition and timing of product offering changes (engineering changes, new product launches, product line obsolescence, vendor changes)
- Drive actions with Suppliers, Materials Managers, Logistics Managers and Commodity Managers to achieve On Time Delivery targets and to develop and maintain the Plan For Every Part required to optimize material flow and inventory investment for assigned product lines through the entire value stream.
- Onboard new suppliers to ensure compliance with Supplier Delivery Standards as they relate to material presentation (packaging), on-time delivery expectations, supplier labeling standards, lead time expectations,
Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following:
- Effective communication skills and the ability to lead / influence without direct authority
- Ability to plan replenishment of multiple SKU production materials
- Analysis of inventory variance and the ability to identify the root cause (BOM errors, forecasting errors, parameter settings, plan vs actual lead times, etc.)
- PO generation and dispute management
- Supplier issue resolution and escalation
- Management of suppliers across multiple (20+) manufacturing sites
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Two year Associates degree from a college or university; or 2+ years’ experience working in a supply chain, sales, or operations capacity in a manufacturing environment.
- Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word
- Intermediate Excel functionality required – PIVOT Tables, Vlookup, basic statistical formulas, etc
- Must be flexible and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills up and down the organizational hierarchy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) from college or university in a supply chain, business, or engineering discipline; or 4+ years’ experience working in a supply chain, sales, or operations capacity in a manufacturing environment.
- APICS/ASCM or ISM Certification
- Competent in data analysis software including intermediate or higher MS Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, MS Access & SQL, etc.
- Industry standard ERP (SAP, Oracle, Syteline, JDE, etc) experience
- A basic understanding of manufacturing process improvement techniques including Continuous Improvement, SQDCI, TPS, and JIT.
