Summer Intern 2024 - Operations

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Summer Intern 2024 - Operations to join our growing team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

              The JELD-WEN Summer Internship Program empowers talented undergraduate students to gain real-world working experience and professional development in one of six potential business areas. This position is focused on the Operations business area. The internship program includes meaningful projects and challenging work assignments geared at developing professional competencies and skills in a chosen discipline. Additionally, throughout the summer internship, participants will have the opportunity for professional development, mentoring, and networking opportunities to help enhance future leadership.

WHAT YOU’LL DO          

In the past, our interns have had the opportunity to:

• Gain exposure to the different parts of Operations (Supply Chain, Sourcing, etc.)
• Analyze and create spreadsheets for excess and obsolete inventory for manufacturing plants.
• Conduct time observations for manufacturing plants.
• Gain access to your own buyer code to create and purchase parts for making doors.
• Manage and work with an assigned vendor.
• Work with potential suppliers.
• Prepare NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreements) for sharing information between two companies to ensure that it will remain confidential. Send out RFQs (Request For Quotation) to request quotes from suppliers in order to purchase products.

Required

• Demonstrated work ethic and detail-orientation.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Organizational skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment and work to a high caliber.
• Collaboration and teamwork.
• Leadership experience and relationship-building skills.
• Relevant major or academic work completed.

Recommended

• Rising Senior students (current Juniors)
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Relevant internship or previous work experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
