The Tax Analyst position is a full-time employment position based in our Charlotte, NC corporate headquarters.  They will be an integral member of the worldwide JELD-WEN Tax Department who provides leadership and management of our income tax planning, compliance, reporting, and forecasting for our international operations.  They will report directly to the Global Director of Reporting and Analysis while working closely with the JELD-WEN tax team worldwide.  


Specific responsibilities include the following:


  • Assist with the preparation and review of the Company’s worldwide income tax provision process including:
    • Preparation of the Company’s quarterly and annual US domestic provision considering all necessary adjustments and positions.    
    • Preparation and review of Company’s quarterly and annual provision calculations for its foreign subsidiaries.
    • Assist in the compilation of the worldwide income tax provision and required tax disclosures under US GAAP.
    • Support the Department’s internal control processes in compliance with the Company’s Sarbanes Oxley policies and procedures
  • Assist with tax reporting activities including federal, state, and local tax reporting including: 
    • US federal income tax compliance
    • State and local income tax compliance
    • Provide support for outsourced sales and use tax compliance relationship including data gathering and operational intelligence to ensure accurate compliance with all local laws and regulations. 
    • Assist with coordination of global outsourcing arrangement for foreign income tax reporting.
    • Provide support for federal, state, and local audits as they arise.
  • Work closely with tax, finance, and operations personnel to develop relationships and identify planning opportunities with the goal of driving value from the tax organization and to ensure that tax considerations are surfaced and addressed in a timely manner
  • Involvement in the identification, development, and implementation of tax planning opportunities to continue to optimize both the Company’s worldwide effective tax rate and cash tax outlay.
    • Identification, development, and implementation of new federal and state planning ideas to continue to reduce the Company’s effective tax rate and/or cash tax burden.
    • Involvement in our Corporate Enterprise Risk Management initiative to identify, monitor and manage risks worldwide from a tax perspective.
  • Assist with planning and reporting of acquisitions and divestitures.
  • Assist in coordination and management of foreign audits. 
  • Support ongoing Department initiatives to implement process and efficiency improvement opportunities designed to reduce overall group effort on compliance activities allowing increased focus on value-added planning opportunities. 
  • Maintain positive working relationships with and, when necessary, provide support to other members of the finance and accounting department, legal department, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.





  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • CPA and/or Master’s Degree in Taxation a plus
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of income tax experience, preferably with a mix of industry and public accounting, with a proven knowledge of the following:
    • Complex federal and international tax concepts applicable to corporations
    • Experience in ASC 740 income tax provision preparation, analysis and financial statement disclosures
  • Experience in OneSource Income Tax Return and Tax Provision software or similar software tools.
  • The ideal candidate has significant experience in tax reporting systems, financial systems, advanced Excel functions, and data management and analytics tools, among others
  • Proactive self-starter with continuous improvement mindset. Willingness to challenge current processes and procedures and develop process improvements to gain overall efficiencies.
  • Strong project, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
