THE ROLE

The ServiceNow Developer is responsible for designing, developing, configuring and supporting JELD-WEN’s ServiceNow environment. The developer will work closely with IT and business stakeholders to identify and document business requirements and will implement solutions to meet the requirements. The position is also responsible for maintaining the ServiceNow hosted environments, performing upgrades, testing, migrations, root cause analysis, and technical support by using good practice web development techniques to configure robust and scalable solutions.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with stakeholders and analysts to understand business requirements and recommend solutions.
  • Leverage knowledge and experience of IT Service Management processes to design and deliver an exceptional user experience.
  • Understand and be aware of system dependencies, relationships, and integration points to ensure proper solution integration with other systems when applicable.
  • Develop and modify ServiceNow workflows, forms, lists, business rules, UI components, Web services, tables, menus, client scripts, UI Scripts, ACLs, UI Pages and scripted REST APIs.
  • Organize and manage development efforts, including design, testing, migrations, etc., interfacing with vendors, users, and management, as necessary.
  • Provide configuration and customization including, but not limited to user interface, workflow administration, reports, data imports, integration, custom scripting and third-party software integrations by applying best practices.
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing configuration and workflows to develop strategies for improving or further integrations leveraging ServiceNow.
  • Create and maintain documentation as necessary for comprehensive business process, operational, security audits, business requirements, technical specifications, and system architects.
  • Provide subject matter expertise/thought leadership in the ServiceNow platform and technical mentoring including training and guidance of junior staff and administrators.
  • Build and create integrations between ServiceNow and other third-party applications

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related area and five years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Development experience on ServiceNow platform required
  • Experience with Web technologies (SOAP, JSON, XML, HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, and Web Services)
  • Experience with integration with other external modules, platforms and third-party products as well as encryption capabilities
  • Experience working with ServiceNow Integration Hub, ITSM, ITBM, CMDB, and GRC applications.
  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow data schema and underlying tables with ACLs for various modules.
  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform and PAAS model with relevance to ServiceNow integration solutions including: SSO, SAML, Web Services, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, REST, and MID server.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer
  • ITIL v3/v4 Foundations Certification
