Purpose of Role:

The Sr Manager, Talent Development and Early Career Programs will be a key member of the NA Talent Development team, responsible for leading and executing JELD-WEN’s Early Career Rotational Programs (ECRPs). In North America, the ECRP portfolio consists of a two-year rotational accelerated development program and a ten-week summer internship program. Over time, this position will lead the global strategy to integrate additional regional programs and ultimately manage a robust global portfolio of programs directed at the development of early career talent around the world.

 

Reporting directly to the Snr. Director Global Talent Development, this role will also respond to the broader talent development needs of mid-level leaders across the North America region. As needs are identified, this role will assist in creating both formal and informal development interventions, including but not limited to leadership assessments, feedback and coaching, team interventions and manager development programs.

 

This role has one direct report who manages the NA summer internship program and leads the campus recruiting efforts.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • Deliver a best-in-class Early Career talent strategy, grounded in the Corporate Values, that builds strong and diverse pipeline while delivering on business needs for today and the future.
  • Oversee the development and selection of program rotational assignments, and summer internships, working with managers to prioritize business opportunities and geographic locations. Manage program logistics, including budget planning, housing and post-program placement.
  • Create and deliver innovative onboarding and accelerated development opportunities (4+ dedicated weeks a year) for early career talent and their managers. Design experiences that create and maintain an engaged community of current and alumni ECRPs.
  • Oversee the NA summer internship program, ensuring successful experiences for the interns, their managers, and the company. Drive the post-internship conversion process through to full time hires.
  • Partner with NA Talent Acquisition and the DE&I team to drive the Early Career sourcing and selection strategy, including building strategic university and collegiate partnerships.  
  • Actively participate in external industry forums focused on Early Career talent development and mid-level leadership development.
  • Engage in the design and delivery other mid-level leadership development efforts across the North America region.
  • Lead small team interventions, manager assessment, feedback and coaching, and formal leadership development programs, as needed.
  • Offer creative support for onboarding events, employee engagement activities and broader corporate culture initiatives.
  • Assist in creating tools and resources to drive engagement activities

Required Education/Experience:

  • 5-7 years of professional experience within Human Resources
  • 3-5 years experience with Early Career / Rotational Leadership Development Programs
  • Track record of success in managing rotational programs and/or leadership development programs
  • Ability to partner seamlessly with various stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize and use resources effectively
  • Effective communication skills and ability to influence across all levels in an organization
  • Ability develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships with people at all levels of experience
  • Experience managing budget, forecasting, accrual planning and reconciliation

 

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree: Industrial-Organization Psychology, Masters HR, Business, Instructional Design
  • Coaching Certification
