THE ROLE

As a valued member of the global procurement team, reporting to the SVP of Global Procurement, this position will be responsible for working with the regional sourcing leaders and their teams to improve supplier performance and collaboration across the business. This position provides leadership in supplier development in a manner that emphasizes supporting our production, distribution facilities and customers with a high performance and collaborative supply base. For this role, the incumbent will be expected to travel up to 25% of the time, as needed.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement supplier development process and tools to support corporate objectives and the organization’s need for a diverse and high performance supply base  
  • Focus on supplier Corporate social responsibility (CSR), Risk, Compliance, audit and service based metrics
  • Service based metrics to include, On time in full, Quality, Inventory management,
  • Provide functional leadership and ownership of tools, metrics and structure to support step improvements in supplier performance and collaboration
  • Work with the IT team and global sourcing analytics team to develop on-line collaboration and performance management tools
  • Meet with senior leaders and other team members to develop and deploy tools and process
  • Show a proactive approach to change and encourage continuous improvement

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and participate in cross functional global teams
  • Functional leadership in a globally matrixed organization
  • Development of process, tools and standard work and a proven track record of global deployment
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and problem solving
  • Experience working for a global multi-plant manufacturing company
  • Advanced proficiency with analytical tools (sourcing application/tools, Excel, etc.)
  • Supplier scorecard development, deployment and management
  • Able to drive strategy and deployment of tools and process with support from senior level management
  • Proven track record of deploying lean principals and building standard work

Education and Experience

  • An expectation of 10+ years’ relevant experience in global supplier development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field an advantage. A combination of education and relevant experience will be accepted in lieu of a relevant degree.
  • Excels at multi-tasking and have demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team player
  • Exemplary analytical, and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper sourcing and supplier opportunities
  • Desirable but not required additional certification include: Certified Professional Purchaser (CPP); Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM); Certified Supply Chain Manager (CSCM); and/or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
