Role Summary and Purpose

The primary purpose of the role is to deliver targeted learning solutions that result in the achievement of defined performance objectives for the Americas operational locations. This includes responsibility for planning, organizing, developing, and delivering training curricula, materials, and programs to meet specific training needs. The role will positively impact multiple aspects of the Employee experience across the Employee lifecycle; and will play a critical role in JELD-WEN's multi-year people strategy, specifically developing internal talent, skills, and capabilities within the manufacturing operations segment.

  • Internal – Global Learning and Development Director, VP Global Talent Management, VP Human Resources, HR, and Talent Management Team Members, EHS Team Members, JEM Team Members, Plant Managers. 
  • External – Training providers, other third-party service providers / vendors.


Critical Performance Objectives

  • Any agreed and approved programmes delivery to be within budget.
  • Learning Programs records are maintained and accurate and provide management information up to board level which is relevant to informed decision making.
  • Increase in Employee Engagement on Engagement Index, Performance Enablers &Growth, and Development Categories.
  • Increase in Employee retention rates of Production Employees and Supervisors.


Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • To ensure adherence with all compliance standards and always operate with integrity.


Learning Design

  • Complete needs assessment and analysis using voice of customer and data required to diagnose and recommend learning solutions for production Employees.
  • Utilizes input learning needs assessment and analysis to plan, develop, customize, and implement appropriate learning programs to achieve maximum learning and development results.
  • Creates learning programs, tools, and content including classroom, eLearning, online learning, and social learning for Employees within our Production facilities.
  • Builds creative, impactful, and scalable solutions for a diverse set of roles that range in career level and track.
  • Leads projects with greater complexity that require customer stakeholder collaboration, meticulous attention to detail, and process improvement strategies that support change management, for example:
    • Supervisor Leadership Training Program
    • 90-day orientation and onboarding for new hires in Production.
  • Partners across the HR and Talent Management function to identify natural opportunities for collaboration, procedural efficiencies, which contribute to an overall improvement within the Employee lifecycle.
  • Where applicable works with and manages external vendors linked to learning program delivery including overall process of selection, onboarding, and delivery.



  • Facilitate learning programs to develop Employee’s skill sets.
  • Manage the classroom and participants during training.
  • In partnership with Regional Learning Systems Lead ensure learning programs are fully executed and managed through the Learning Management System. 


Measurement and Evaluation

  • Review deliverables for accuracy and quality.
  • Gathers and analyzes quantitative and qualitative data to monitor the effectiveness of a learning solutions and / or programs.
  • Drive process improvements through continual programming audits to analyze efficiency / success of Learning and Development solutions and / or program offerings.
  • Monitors and manages learning program budgets.
  • Measures and evaluates training solutions delivered by external vendors to assess the effectiveness of delivery methods and/or external learning programs.



Education / Qualifications

  • Masters or bachelor’s degree in HR and / or Learning and Development or equivalent in experience
  • A programme / project management qualification is desirable.
  • Qualification in use of profiling tools.
  • Coaching qualifications / education desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite


Language Skills

  • Must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
  • Additional languages are advantageous, but not essential.
