THE ROLE

 

Responsible for the preparation and review of the monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and reports for US GAAP and IFRS based financial reporting, including purchase accounting.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual accounting consolidations and close process
  • Management of Consolidation Groups process documentation
  • Manage SOX control documentation for the Consolidations Group
  • Management of the exchange rate in the financial accounting system
  • Monthly Close:
    • Manage consolidation, intercompany accounting, and elimination process, including preparation of certain equity account reconciliations
    • Prepare the global consolidation package (monthly IFRS) and present applicable portions of the monthly results to the Finance Organization
    • Prepare monthly BS and IS analyticals on a global and regional basis
    • Prepare monthly cumulative translation adjustment (CTA) and foreign currency gain/loss analyses
  • Quarterly Close:
    • Serve as the key point of contact and direct liaison with external auditors for financial statement annual audit and quarterly reviews.
    • Serve as the key point of contact and direct liaison with international controllers for consolidated financial information
    • Manage Regional Quarterly Reporting Planning process inclusive of scheduling Regional Update Calls; Audit timing/deliverable timeline and coordination of regional reporting packages.
    • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, flux analyses and review of related supporting information submitted by foreign subsidiaries for completeness, accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and IFRS
    • Consolidation of the regional IFRS reporting packages due to our parent company
    • Completion of US GAAP footnotes, researching reporting matters, accounting principles and financial reporting rules.
    • Identification and review of Corporate regional adjustments required for IFRS and purchase accounting
    • Regulatory reporting
    • Other reporting as requested
  • Other Projects:
    • Take a lead role in the world-wide planning and preparation of the upcoming lease and revenue recognition accounting changes
    • Work closely with various business partners to obtain required internal financial reporting information and develop improvements to the reporting process
    • Work with the entire accounting team on continuous optimization of the global record to report process to streamline and shorten the close
    • Research and provide guidance on complex accounting issues as needed
    • Participate in the implementation of financial consolidation software
    • Participate in ad hoc projects as needed
  • Other duties may be assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

 

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have Advanced working knowledge of Spreadsheet software such as MS Excel; Financial Accounting software; Internet software; and Contact Management systems and advanced knowledge of HFM.
  • Demonstrate an ability to research complex accounting topics, document the accounting conclusions and present the matter and judgments to senior financial leadership and/or the audit team.

 

Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) from four-year college or university in finance, accounting or equivalent; five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior manufacturing and Big 4 experience preferred. Experience in a multi-national consolidation environment is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of corporate finance and/or public accounting, including managerial experience performing consolidations of foreign entities, and ASC830, Foreign Currency Accounting.
  • CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Two (2) years of successful managerial experience, including developing and leading others is preferred.
