SAP Security & Controls Manager

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a SAP Security & Controls Manager to join our growing team.

THE ROLE  

The IT Controls Manager will be responsible for implementing, improving, and ensuring the effectiveness of IT controls across JELD-WEN’s North American operations. This role will work closely with Internal Audit and external auditors to support periodic control assessments and ensure the proper execution of ongoing IT controls. The IT Controls Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams and control owners to improve the control landscape, train personnel, and ensure controls are properly documented and executed. The position offers flexibility with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently across multiple time zones to ensure timely completion of tasks, particularly during peak audit cycles.
 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities 

• Implement and Improve IT Controls: Lead efforts to implement IT controls and improve the control environment across North America.
• Audit Collaboration: Work with Internal Audit and external auditors to ensure the timely completion of periodic control reviews and verify that ongoing controls are properly executed and documented.
• Control Training: Provide training and guidance to control owners and control preparers on how to effectively execute, document, and complete IT controls, ensuring alignment with company standards.
• Control Quality Assurance: Collaborate with control owners to verify and quality-check controls during the implementation phase and before review cycles with internal or external auditors.
• Process Improvement: Participate in identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance the overall control environment.
• Reconciliation of Policies and Procedures: Reconcile policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and documentation with the actual implementation and performance of controls across North American entities.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work both as part of a team and independently, ensuring smooth coordination and communication with team members across multiple time zones to meet deadlines and deliverables.
• Audit Support: Support the compliance team during audit cycles, ensuring all controls and audit evidence are prepared and available for timely reviews.
   

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, particularly when formulating requests, providing reasoning, and explaining technical concepts.
• Technical and IT Process Expertise: Solid understanding of IT systems, IT processes, and governance frameworks, with the ability to apply this knowledge to assess, document, and improve IT controls.
• Knowledge of IT SOC and General Controls: Familiarity with IT Service Organization Control (SOC) reports and general IT controls, including Segregation of Duties (SoD) principles.
• Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a focus on precision in reviewing controls, documentation, and audit evidence.
• Teamwork and Independence: Ability to collaborate effectively with teams and work independently to drive initiatives and meet deadlines.
• Audit Evidence Preparation: Experience in preparing audit evidence and ensuring proper documentation for audit cycles.
   

Education and Experience 

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 3-5 years of experience working with IT governance, internal controls, or audit in an IT environment, preferably with exposure to ITGC (IT General Controls), SOC audits, and control implementation processes.
• Preferred Experience: Previous experience in a multinational organization with a focus on North American operations and familiarity with cross-time-zone teamwork.

Expected pay for this role is between $109,700.00 to $182,800.00 per year and is based on experience and qualifications.​
