Job Title: Manager – Leave Programs



The newly created Manager – Associate Leave Programs position will drive innovative strategies, provide subject matter expertise and implement operational best practices for JELD-WEN leave of absence and return-to-work programs. As part of the Corporate Benefits COE, this role collaborates across service lines as well as other Human Resources operational and functional areas.
The Manager – Associate Leave Programs delivers consumer grade people experiences by balancing high touch approaches with data driven technology solutions in program and system design.   The role ensures compliance with all leave-related regulatory and reporting requirements, maintains up-to-date plan and policy documents, manages vendor relationships and provides exceptional internal support across JELD-WEN.  The Manager – Associate Leave Programs will initial focus on North America with a longer-term global focus.  


Principle Duties and Responsibilities

•    Act as leave of absence program expert within the Benefits COE – a central point of contact for plan design, regulatory compliance and program operations.
•    Design wholistic leave programs to provide exceptional Associate experiences, support business objectives and integrate with wellbeing and total rewards programs.
•    Collaborate with team members within the Benefits COE, Human Resources, legal, payroll and risk teams in implementing and managing leave policies, programs and processes.
•    Ensure JELD-WEN  leave programs are compliant with applicable regulations and requirements.
•    Use data analytics and customer feedback in strategic planning,  continuous improvement and outcomes measurement  for leave benefit design, administration and cost efficiency.
•    Recommend innovative approaches to fully engage and support Associates in all life and career stages.
•    Act as a leave management data and tracking systems super-user by liaising with leave vendors, providing direction for JELD-WEN internal partners and championing systems data integrity and reporting accuracy.   
•    Create leave communication and training for Associates, Human Resources and other internal partners.
•    Coordinate vendor procurement, management and review to ensure compliance and best in class performance.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

•    Advanced knowledge of US federal, state and local FMLA, disability, ADA and other leave related regulations.
•    Up-to-date knowledge on leave best practices to ensure programs are competitive and incorporate best practices.
•    Ability to successfully implement and manage insourced, outsourced and co-sourced systems and projects.
•    Familiarity with Canada, Mexico, European and Australasian statutory and company provided leave programs.  
•    Working knowledge of privacy / security best practices related to Associate Personal Information. 
•    Experience with corporate benefit and wellbeing programs and integration with leave and absence programs
•    History using metrics and analytics to solve problems, develop solutions and report progress.
•    Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills.
•    Strong project management skills with the ability to organize and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
•    Ability to collaborate and influence effectively with vendors, internal business partners and Associates.


Education and Experience

•    BS/BA in Human Resources, Business, or related degree.
•    7+ years in HR Benefits with focus and progressive responsibility in employer leave management.
•    Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office Suite and apps such as SharePoint and Teams. 
•    Proficiency working with Human Capital Management Systems, particularly SuccessFactors / ADP.
•    Experience with third-party leave management data systems.
