JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Manager, EH&S Systems to join our growing team.

 

The Opportunity

As a Manager, Environmental, Health & Safety Systems at JELD-WEN, you will be a key member of the EH&S team and will be responsible for managing JELD-WEN’s enterprise wide environmental, health & safety information and data management system. This system is used to collect EH&S and sustainability data necessary to manage environmental, health & safety across JELD-WEN’s businesses.  The primary objectives of this position are to manage the EH&S system (MyEHS), develop & deliver education & training for system users, assist the Global EH&S team and businesses with analyzing data, identifying trends and opportunities to develop and implement injury prevention initiatives and publish EH&S dashboards and reports and assist with ESG reporting. Additionally, you’ll contribute to improving environmental, health & safety by assisting selected sites and members of the Global EH&S team with special projects, participate on EHS audits, assist with incident investigation techniques, provide technical assistance, develop Global EHS policies & standards and delivering EH&S training.  You will report directly to the Vice President, Global Environmental, Health and Safety.

 

This is a hybrid role and based in our Charlotte, NC Facility.

 

What You Will Do

  • Manage enterprise-wide EH&S information management system (MyEHS) for the company, consisting of:
    • Manage the JELD-WEN and vendor interface to deliver any product enhancements or bug fixes to the platform
    • Co-lead JW Implementation Core Team with IT project manager Interface with the JELD-WEN IT team for assistance as needed
    • Maintain employee database feed from HR into enterprise-wide EH&S information management system
    • Troubleshoot any bugs found within the enterprise-wide EH&S information management system and resolve or escalate to the vendor support team or IT
    • Develop and maintain a User’s Manual for site environmental, health & safety Coordinators and Corporate environmental, health & safety staff
    • Develop training courses and train all enterprise-wide EH&S information management system users at all JELD-WEN locations worldwide
  • Ensure data integrity of EH&S information used for annual ESG reporting
  • Develop MyEHS module training programs and train new users of JW MyEHS.
  • Assist Environmental, health & safety coordinators, site managers and corporate environmental, health & safety team members with any issues arising from the system.
  • Manage all environmental, health & safety data and reporting by collecting information from multiple internal and external sources, e.g. HR, Workers’ Compensation Provider, Fleet providers and Real Estate.
  • Develop and maintain electronic databases and dashboards to capture and report out the key environmental, health & safety metrics. Leading Indicator Dashboard & Safety Performance Dashboard.
  • Manage JELD-WEN injury & illness data for submission to external organizations, e.g. OSHA, ORCHSE, etc.
  • Create ad-hoc reports, as requested
  • Develop training materials and instruct the user base on the enterprise wide EH&S system and help improve the internal user’s experience
  • Assist users, when requested, via zoom or MS teams to resolve issues
  • environmental, health & safety management systems self-assessment
  • Develop and maintain the global environmental, health & safety SharePoint site
  • Develop education & training sessions and participate in Global EH&S audits

 

 

Who You Are

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years’ experience in environmental, health & safety
  • Experience with implementation and management of an enterprise wide EH&S information management system, e.g., Benchmark ESG, or similar systems
  • Advanced skills using Minitab, and the Microsoft suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access and other databases; Additionally, report generating software such as MS Publisher or InDesign may be required
  • A background in statistics and/or mathematical problem solving desired 
  • Knowledge of Environmental, health & safety laws and regulations
  • Analyze environmental, health & safety data, mine the data for trends and determine impact of prevention initiatives

  • Ability to professionally write and edit documents, e.g. reports, procedures and training guidelines for internal and external stakeholders
  • Previous experience in Business / Systems Analysis desired
  • Experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and in data visualization techniques and tools
  • Strong understanding of enterprise wide EH&S information and data systems, i.e., Benchmark ESG, data collection & analysis techniques, and data outputs (EHS dashboards and reports), utilizing our enterprise-wide EH&S information management system (MyEHS).
