The Storytelling & Content Manager is responsible for developing and sharing dynamic multimedia stories that reinforce JELD-WEN’s compelling brand across internal and external platforms to reach key audiences. He/She will create and manage an external-facing storytelling digital newsroom that houses stories about JELD-WEN’s people, business operations and impact in our global communities, reinforcing our commitment to the environment, our people and our operations. Reporting the VP of Global Communications, he/she will work closely with communication leaders across the globe, the head of ESG, HR and marketing leaders to plan and execute corporate content on our internal and external channels, including social media. He/she will work with marketing and HR to support the employee value proposition and align on any paid social media campaigns.


He/she will need to be a creative storyteller that uses digital media to engage audiences on our content, using a research and data-driven approach. He/she will work with global and regional communication leaders to source, create and amplify stories that demonstrate our impact as a responsible corporate citizen. He/she will also work closely with the head of ESG to ensure our ESG report content is optimized for digital channels and shared with key audiences.



Essential Functions:

  • Develops and executes a cohesive, proactive content strategy that positions JELD-WEN as a company that customers want to buy from, employees want to work for, and investors want to invest in
  •  Leads the development and management of an external storytelling newsroom in collaboration with IT, communication leads, investor relations and human resources; makes recommendations for corporate content on the website and makes recommendations to build brand awareness
  • Leads editorial content planning across the global organization in partnership with global and regional communication leaders, marketing and HR
  • Directly manages one employee and oversees a team of internal/external resources and works with a team of internal and contract writers, videographers and graphic designers to develop compelling content based on channel
  • Develops content for executive positioning/thought leadership on social channels
  • Adapts corporate communications plan and messaging to social and digital channels
  • Works closely with the global team to ensure message consistency and effective cross-region communication
  • Measures and reports performance of all digital channels, and assesses against goals (SEO, ROI and KPIs)
  • Provides recommendations on new ways to share our stories to increase reach and impact; continuously optimizes user experience
  • Provides ongoing communications support in a variety of capacities




  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Digital Media, Journalism or related
  • 5-10 years of experience in content management, writing/communications, creative digital experience, digital/social strategy and content development
  • Demonstrated strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, particularly for web & social
  • Demonstrated storytelling experience in a corporate, agency or new media organization
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills and able to work independently
  • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, WebTrends)
  • Ability to collaborate and influence in matrix environment  
  • Able to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously with appropriate sense of urgency 
  • A track record demonstrating the ability to formulate and implement strategic communications plans 
  • Deep knowledge of technology space and how to effectively utilize each channel to engage stakeholders
  • Critical thinking and strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills   #LI-TG1
