Job Description

Manager, Internal Communications

 Reporting to the VP Global Corporate Communications, the Manager of Internal Communications drives cross-enterprise internal communications and serves as content manager.  He or she contributes to the development of internal communications strategy, and directs internal online and digital communications including the intranet and the JW Connect mobile app.

 

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Leads planning and content development for internal communications channels
  •  Partners with Marketing and external  resources to develop, design, and create layout, graphics, animation, video, and other content for digital media
  • Leads content gathering and writing to optimize content performance and employee engagement
  • Technically operates content management system
  • Ensures content is structured and tagged properly for any relevant back end systems including the Content Management System (CMS)
  • Directs and assists content contributors with producing content
  • Directs and assists page owners with maintaining content, following governance model
  • Serves as a resource with respect to writing, style, and content structure. Review submitted content for accuracy
  • Accountable for the management and delivery of CMS and ensuring governance is maintained
  • Responsible for embedding and maintaining the internal brand and style guide
  • Establishes metrics for each channel, measures user experience and makes recommendations for improvement
  • Stays current with latest trends in internal communication channels and digital media, and makes recommendations for further development
  • Develops and leads content audits to ensure content is maintained as site becomes recognized as a trusted source of information
  • Assists with requirements gathering for content or website enhancements (document and troubleshoot issues, make recommendations on how to resolve)
  • Educates and engages business stakeholders, project managers, and other internal colleagues for widespread understanding of content strategy
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in communications.  Preferably inclusive of experience in website multimedia development or in digital sector working with content creation.  
  • Experience in digital/intranet content development and editing
  • Knowledge and understanding of content management systems; working knowledge of HTML code
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript functionality
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Ability to build relationships and work in a cross-functional team environment across the enterprise
  • Strong communication skills, both written (email and formal documents) and verbal (meetings and presentations)
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritize projects for results
  • Able to look around corners and anticipate future needs
  • Strong attention to detail and outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven track record producing quality content for audiences
  • Ability to plan and meet deadlines
