JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Fiber Quality Manager to join our growing team.
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Manager for our Fiber business to join our team. The Quality Control Manager will develop, implement, and periodically evaluate a program to ensure the organization’s production operations, from raw materials to finished fiber products, meet the quality, integrity, and efficiency standards set by the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Directs and oversees the quality control departments across the fiber network
- Responsible for building out and managing the fiber quality team
- Evaluates production operations from a strategic level to ensure that products meet quality, integrity, functionality, and other specifications and requirements
- Conduct root cause analysis with the local production team for resolution of quality and yield problems
- Collaborates with management and senior staff across production departments and roles to draft acceptable quality standards Develop and manage component and supplier quality metrics to drive improvements
- Develops and implements quality standard testing and evaluation processes
- Reviewing our manufacturing specifications to identify critical to quality specifications needed for production
- Facilitates communication among fiber and door plants both internal and trade
- Periodically reports status of quality control and operations to executive leadership and, when required, regulatory agencies
- Collaborate with diverse teams within a manufacturing organization, including engineering, product management, and operations, to ensure the successful delivery of products
- Travel up to 40% may be required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in material or wood science, engineering, or a related experience
- 5+ years of experience in fiber / wood products or production, engineering, quality control, or a related field
- Proven experience in manufacturing and in securing supplier process agreements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train staff
- Proficient statistical analysis and quality assurance skills and understanding
- Strong understanding of product development and commercialization processes, including experience with stage-gate or similar methodologies
- In-depth knowledge of the technical aspects of manufacturing and engineering
- Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
- Expertise in problem-solving with a strong background in data analysis and visualization
- Ability to work with diverse teams within a manufacturing organization and to lead and inspire teams to deliver exceptional results
- Experience in the window and door industry is a strong asset
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
