Summary: The Director of Product Line Management is responsible for managing existing products, new product development, product line growth, and the day-to-day management of initiatives and features within the product lines manufactured at the various JELD-WEN facilities and vendor partners distributed through JELD-WEN Distribution locations. This position works closely with team members of the marketing departments, sales, sales support, operations, inventory management, and JELD-WEN corporate product teams to ensure continuity in product offering and company goals and objectives.    

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

 

  • Manage and prioritize direct sales team to generate and implement new sales and marketing initiatives to increase top-line sales and profitability.
  • Provide business development support and technical expertise to the sales team.    
  • Takes responsibility for continuous development and performance. Develops and energizes people through sharing ideas, coaching, mentoring, or supervising. Communicates the JELD-WEN vision, values, principles and business goals.
  • Manage the entire product life cycle and become a subject matter expert in areas of ownership of said product the position is responsible for.   
  • Create account strategies to grow current business, obtain new business and successfully penetrate under-developed markets.
  • Develop requirements for new products and changes for existing products based upon industry and market analysis and coordinate same with operations.    
  • Collaborate in a cross-functional environment with engineering, operations, reliability, and marketing communications to implement new product designs and features in a timely manner.
  • Conduct periodic competitive/market analysis and stay current with relevant technical changes in the industry. Perform competitive research to determine new market opportunities and positioning strategies.
  • Establish cost targets and participate in product pricing and sales forecasting.
  • Interface regularly with senior management for product line reviews.
  • Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, including Reliability Managers and Continuous Improvement personnel on product integrity, sustainability, and efficiency.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on key performance metrics to the organization and appropriate senior management on the assigned product lines and individual product performance throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Comply with all JELD-WEN corporate guidelines on marketing and business ethics, in accordance with Company Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).

 

 Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business or a related field and five (5) years relevant experience in product management. A combination of education and experience can be considered.
  • Experience within doors, windows, or building materials industry strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated product management and product marketing experience.
  • Technical understanding of product applications including installation, manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in financial analysis and budgeting.   
  • Knowledge of quality control systems and standards. 
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance.
  • Strong financial management and technical capacity skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to collaborate with plant personnel in conjunction with corporate guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of continuous improvement techniques, Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and SQDCI.
  • Knowledge of business, finance, and management principles.
  • The ability to train, coach, and collaborate with personnel to achieve objectives.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and position applicable JELD-WEN software.
