JELD-WEN is currently seeking an Director, NA Quality to join our growing team. 

 

THE ROLE 

 

Reporting to the Senior Vice President (SVP), Operations North America, this position will lead the Quality organization for the Windows, Doors, and Fiber businesses across North America (NA). The specific areas of leadership responsibility include developing, managing and maintaining a wholistic quality management system (QMS) designed to ensure quality of processes, procedures and products across our North American manufacturing sites. This role is located at our global headquarters in Charlotte, NC.

Together with your team, you will be accountable for establishing and executing a quality assurance program that will deliver best in class overall customer satisfaction, reduce overall cost of quality, and achieve world class quality performance.  As a strong and versatile business strategist, the Director of Quality will oversee the entire quality management system across product design, development, manufacturing, and customer service processes. This role will ensure that all products and services meet the highest quality standards and regulatory requirements.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

•    Develop, implement, and continuously improve quality systems and processes to ensure product safety, efficacy, and consistency 
•    Build, lead and develop a highly talented Quality team by providing direction and guidance as well as setting clear performance expectations and coaching 
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Operations, Regulatory Affairs) to drive quality initiatives and product development
•    Monitor and analyze quality metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance overall product quality
•    Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement and compliance
•    Develop and implement a quality strategy that includes KPI’s, dashboards and sustainability practices
•    Leads key A3 and Kaizen quality improvement initiatives
•    Collaborate, promote and develop tight integration with operations, engineering, customer service, human resources, and finance teams to drive cross-functional alignment
•    Establish a culture focused on continuous process improvements using JELD-WEN’s Continuous Improvement model, aimed at achieving predictability and efficient supply chain operations.
•    Lead team members’ professional growth and development to ensure everyone’s competencies are aligned with organizational goals and objectives
•    Manage the budget and operating performance, along with key service, quality and cost metrics

•    Strong financial and business acumen

 

Education and Experience 

•    BS or BA degree from an accredited 4-year college or university in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or another equivalent field
•    10 years’ experience in manufacturing, quality/reliability engineering, quality assurance, quality systems, customer satisfaction and/or continuous improvement.
•    Proven track record in leading significant strategic initiatives in quality across multiple sites and/or divisions
•    Extensive knowledge with Statistical Quality Tools, Six Sigma, and Lean Fundamentals
•    Exceptional analytical, problem solving & root-cause analysis skills. CQM or other applicable quality certifications preferred
•    Proven mentoring and coaching abilities and demonstrated ability to motivate & inspire others. Ability to multi-task & handle tasks with competing priorities effectively
•    Extensive experience with Automotive AIAG quality techniques: PPAP, APQP, Process Maps, FMEA, Control Plans, Process/Product Capability Analysis, Corrective & Preventive Action, Calibration & product quality improvement using tools such as six sigma
•    Capable of leading cross functionally; line leadership or plant manager experience highly preferred
•    Travel requirement 50% minimum in year one, 30% ongoing
