JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Director, NA Communications to join our growing team.
THE ROLE
Develop and implement regional communication strategies aligned with the Global Communications Strategy in support of the North America business.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the President, North America as a dedicated communications partner, providing executive communications support, strategic communications planning and regional communications management.
- Serve as a dedicated member of the NA leadership team, partnering closely across the team to drive strategic pillars and execution of core initiatives.
- Dedicated support of regional objectives, specifically the NA Path to Success.
- Responsible for the development and execution of the NA Internal Communications content strategy as it relates to all high-level communication planning and support.
- Liaise with Corporate and External Communications colleagues as needed for overlapping content, projects and events. Support external communications, marketing and corporate social responsibility within the plant network and local communities as necessary.
- Lead and manage all regional functional communications, employee engagement efforts, leadership events, etc. Partner in project management with oversight of event, content, leadership and technical workstreams.
- Develop and spearhead the people leader communications strategy helping to create a network of champions to support local communications and cultivate our values-based culture focused on effective communication.
- Provides exceptional written and verbal skills for communication-related projects or work as otherwise assigned.
- Utilize metrics to make informed decisions focused on enhancing the regional communications strategy.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Superior written, editorial and presentation skills.
- Ability to work influence across boundaries in matrixed organization.
- Demonstrated process orientation/capability.
- Critical thinker capable of synthesizing complex ideas and creating audience-relevant communications.
- Self-starter comfortable working independently and in collaboration with others toward shared goals and objectives.
- Ability to develop strong relationship at all levels of the organization and across functions.
- The ability to listen, work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Project management skills.
- Proficient user of the collective Microsoft suite required.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or other related field.
- 7+ years of communications experience, specifically working with content management.
- Global experience preferred.
- Relocation incentive considered as part of compensation package.
