THE ROLE

As a valued member of the global procurement team, reporting to the SVP of Global Procurement, this position will be responsible for working within a team environment to source, develop, and manage suppliers for IT equipment, software, parts, cloud services, consulting and IT related services for the North American region and expanding scope to global. This position provides leadership in the procurement management of this category in a manner that emphasizes the best product cost, service and delivery while constantly seeking continuous improvement opportunities in meeting the requirements of our plants, products, customers, and employees. For this role, the incumbent will be expected to travel up to 25% of the time, as needed.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Identify and implement sourcing/procurement strategies to support corporate objectives and the organization’s need for a diverse and globally competitive supply base  
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Strategic Sourcing Strategy and Process, including a global perspective, outlining strategies and specific actions to meet JELD-WEN’s expectations
  • Analyze data, to achieve targeted performance gains in improved cost, quality and service delivery
  • Continually seek improvements in “right sizing” of supplier base, working capital management, overall supply chain efficiency and supplier operating performance.  
  • Collaborate with the IT group to develop complete specifications to be used in the RFI/RFP process. Own and drive the RFI/RFP process
  • Remain current with market trends, new technologies and sourcing strategies
  • Manage the IT category spend by negotiating and implementing programs and agreements as needed
  • Meet with senior leaders and other team members in developing sourcing strategies
  • Show a proactive approach to change and encourage continuous improvement
  • Identify and implement procedures to reduce inefficiencies in the acquisition process
  • Lead the contract implementation and identification of opportunities for expanded supplier relationships to enhance partnership. Ensure continuity and compliance with current supplier program objectives by identifying current and action plan for future state requirements per policies, benchmarking and market intelligence.
  • Work closely with stakeholders in the implementation of strategies with IT partners and in the prioritization of activities and projects related to IT.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • An expectation of 5+ years’ relevant experience in Information Technology global procurement required. Must include hardware, software, service agreements and other related categories
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and participate in cross functional teams
  • Relationship-building and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to create and implement a sourcing strategy that supports the business long term goals
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Experience working for a global multi-plant manufacturing company
  • RFx creation and management with complex nationwide spend anticipated
  • Advanced proficiency with analytical tools (sourcing application/tools, Excel, etc.)
  • Contract management capabilities
  • Project Management skills
  • Ability to mine data and analyze across multiple systems

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field an advantage. A combination of education and relevant experience will be accepted in lieu of a relevant degree.
  • Excels at multi-tasking and have demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team player
  • Exemplary analytical, and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper sourcing and supplier opportunities
  • Desirable but not required additional certification include: Certified Professional Purchaser (CPP); Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM); Certified Supply Chain Manager (CSCM); and/or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
