The Sr. Retail Channel Marketing Manager is responsible for strategic planning and implementation of marketing commercialization, interconnected experience and marketing support for products, brand, merchandising and customer experience to drive increased volume and share gains within the retail channel. The scope of this role includes strategic planning, development and oversight/implementation of all marketing initiatives and deliverables and ensuring best in class marketing tools for sell-through of key product launches. In addition, the Sr. Retail Channel Marketing Manager will need to understand the needs of key influences like consumers, DIY and Pro’s and help to develop tools and programs to meet their specific needs. They are tightly integrated within the assigned account teams and provides project management expertise to ensure that tactical plans are created and managed to execute on-time and on-budget.
This position is responsible for strategic planning and execution of marketing materials for interconnected experience aligning in-store with online, commercialization and marketing tools for products, brand, creative merchandising and customer experience for windows and doors with collaboration with the marketing and sales teams. They use knowledge of industry, product, and brand strategies to develop and execute specific marketing tools that grow and improve brand equity, seamless customer experience and sales through promotions, sales aides, events, conversions, product line reviews, support material, digital assets, packaging, POP and merchandising.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop creative channel/customer strategy then translate and execute strategy into plans, projects, and programs in collaboration with marketing and sales that attract customers and succeed over the competition to win business.
- Constantly evolve identify and understand needs of key influencers/personas (consumers, contractors, and DIY) and develop tools and programs that make it easier to do business and drive results
- Monitor and compile competitive activity including new product introductions, promotions and visual merchandising
- Constantly bridging the gap to create best in class customer buying journey by harmonizing the online and in-store journey to deliver a consistent and delightful shopping experience that put JELD-WEN top of mind
- Work with internal teams to identify, develop and implement meaningful programs, marketing tools, training, enriched content and promotions that build brand loyalty, create brand advocates and drive sales for assigned retailers and works with sales team to gain retailer approvals
- Resident expert on a various range of support including the ability to identify, develop and implement strategic visual in-store merchandising/display plan in collaboration with marketing and sales
- Responsible for staying within budget and maintain strong vendor relations as well as manage resources and projects for on-time deliveries
- Support sales team in all marketing preparation for line reviews, business meetings, events and marketing updates
- Understand emerging trends and competitive landscape and share insights with marketing and commercialization teams
- Ensure brand consistency, messaging and guidelines across channel
- Sets priorities and drive synergies across customers within retail channel
- Create goals and measurement plans to gauge success of marketing initiatives and ensure appropriate investment is profitable
- Travel required 25%
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams
- Ability to think strategically with supporting analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
- Strong project management
- Strong acumen in visual merchandising, digital assets, and interconnected journey
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, finance, business administration or related field
- Master’s degree in marketing, finance, business administration or related field, is preferred
- 7 - 10 years channel marketing and sales negotiation work experience
- High competency in project and stakeholder management
- Building products and manufacturing industry a plus
- Knowledge in working with big box retailers preferred
- Experience in B2B, B2C and end to end marketing, an advantage
