Location:

This is a national rotation program. At least one rotation will be completed at the Global Corporate Headquarters in Charlotte, NC. Other rotation locations include but are not limited to: Vista, CA; Statesville, NC; Klamath Falls, OR; and Dallas, TX.

ABOUT THE ROLE

 

The JELD-WEN Early Career Rotational Program empowers talented new graduates to explore different roles and specialties in one of six strategic business areas. This position is focused on the Operations business area. The program offers rotations through the various aspects of Operations to enhance and grow awareness of how Operations drives business priorities. The program also provides over 200 hours of professional development, mentoring and networking opportunities to grow participant’s future leadership potential. Upon completion of the two-year program, successful participants will be selected for critical roles within the JELD-WEN Global Operations team. 

 

During this two-year rotational program, participants will move through four, six-month rotations all within the Global Operations function. Each rotation provides the opportunity to learn and experience a different aspect of the employee lifecycle, and develops greater awareness of the interactions between employees, leaders, organizational culture, and operations teammates. The program’s goal is to build a pipeline of Operations talent who understand and are exposed to multiple aspects of this discipline. Potential Operations rotations include: 

 

  • Production Execution
  • Manufacturing Operations
  • Retail Sales 
  • Supply Chain / Sourcing  
  • Continuous Improvement 
  • Product Line Management 
  • Sustaining Engineering

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Examples of opportunities that Rotational Associates have received in the past are:

 

  • Manage supplier’s PO pricing through working with commodity managers to confirm prices from suppliers, and communicating the prices/approvals to finance, accounts payable and the buyers
  • Participate in product pricing and sales forecasting.
  • Analyze, review and report all data information for order fulfilment or manufacturing, including stock levels and seasonality.
  • Support a sales growth strategy and participate in customer calls.
  • Confer with Maintenance to ensure machinery is operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Create new processes to get pricing for retail products and load the new pricing into internal systems.
  • Work with Box Stores (Lowes, Home Depot, Menards) to refresh JELD-WEN interior/exterior door, window, and patio door displays.
  • Learn equipment operation and how to train workers.
  • Analyze and determine optimum distribution and delivery strategies.
  • Understand how to implement improvement activities focused on transactional processes to align with corporate strategy.

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree (expected graduation date Winter 2022 or Spring 2023) in a relevant discipline
  • Demonstrated work ethic and detail-orientation 
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills 
  • Ability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment and produce high-quality work 
  • Collaboration and teamwork 
  • Leadership experience and relationship-building skills 

 

Recommended

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Relevant internship or previous experience in Operations or a corporate environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
