JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Category Manager Europe (m/w/d) - Remote in Germany / UK / France to join our growing team.

Your Role:
As a Sourcing Category Manager for Europe, you'll be a vital part of our team, directly reporting to the Sourcing Director Europe with a dotted line to the Senior Sourcing Category Manager. Your mission is to assist in establishing a robust sourcing function, ensuring efficient sourcing and control of our current and future supplier base from the allocated categories (Chemicals, Plastic Components). You will be a key player in managing global supplier partners and the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process, showcasing a total cost management approach through measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) shared internally and externally.
What You'll Do:
You will:
• Take responsibility for annual budget, ongoing forecast, and reporting processes within specific spend areas.
• Support the development and implementation of a clear sourcing strategy, focusing on risk mitigation in the supply chain and aligning with departmental and wider business goals.
• Ensure cost competitiveness, supporting annual budget requirements.
• Collaborate on the development and ensure timely execution of contract negotiations with targeted suppliers.
• Lead supplier selection and evaluation following the sourcing strategy, focusing on relationship and performance management and development, including make vs buy decisions and supplier sourcing strategies (VA/VE).
• Play an active role in the escalation process.
• Act as a role model for JELD-WEN values.
• Drive sourcing projects to reduce the total cost of ownership on sourced materials.
• Demonstrate a strong bias for action and effective escalation, identifying and resolving challenges.
• Articulate and influence internal and external stakeholders, utilizing structured arguments to gain buy-in.
• Integrate and align with the wider organization and regional businesses (Purchasing, Supply Chain, Product Management, R&D, etc.), delivering against departmental and business goals.
• Utilize strong data analysis skills to identify critical information and implement data-driven decisions into the business.
• Facilitate supplier and/or SKU rationalization to improve consistency and achieve economies of scale.
• Support the development of an innovation strategy using a range of expertise to stimulate line of business thinking, embedding and deploying these into Category strategy.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining robust and consistent sourcing processes and requirements.
• Be ready to adapt to evolving duties and responsibilities based on the changing needs of the company and your personal development.
• Play an active role in responsible and sustainable procurement, monitoring the supplier base for competitiveness, environmental compliance, regulatory adherence, and normative standards (e.g., ISO 9001,REACH ROHS,ETC.).
• Enhance the quality of offers by developing the attractiveness of products or services through environmental and social benefits.
Requirements:
You have:
• Demonstrable evidence of working effectively and delivering results in a global organization, effectively balancing local and international requirements.
• min of 2 years of chemicals sourcing experience
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Commercial acumen and the ability to develop a strategy to deliver strong performance in an inflationary market.
• Confidence, articulation, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels (internal and external).
• Resilience, with the ability to take the lead on topics through challenging situations, driving improvements and performance to tight deadlines.
• Proactivity and adaptability to change.
• Strong organizational skills with a sharp eye for detail.
• Proficiency with MS Office software, especially Excel.
• The ability to champion JELD-WEN Values.
• Proficiency in German is a must, as well as speaking Fluent English
