JELD-WEN is currently seeking a General Production to join our growing team.

 

General Production

 

1st shift Monday - Friday 6am - 2:30pm

 

Starting pay is $19.89

  

Summary / Objective

Responsible for safely feeding, tailing and stacking wood.  Training will be done on the job.

 

Essential functions

  • Grade wood based on end use
  • Keep up in a fast paced production line
  • Able use tape measures and calipers - will train
  • Willing to learn how to read machining specifications
  • Learn from senior personnel
  • Inspect and perform quality verification and take the necessary actions.
  • Meet production standards.
  • Maintain the area, equipment and machinery in a clean, orderly, and operational condition.
  • Conforms with safety regulations per plant policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toed boots/shoes, and associated safety equipment in order to be on the plant floor
  • Reports unsafe conditions immediately to appropriate supervision
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Work environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and machines, vibrations and loud noises.

All safety protocols including OSHA guidelines as mentioned above are mandatory.

 

Physical demands:

The physical demands described here are representative, but not all inclusive, of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and operate hand tools. The employee must occasionally and/or frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

 Required education and experience

  • High School or equivalent
  • No prior training or work-related experience at JELD-WEN
