Technical Manager

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Technical Manager to join our growing team.

TECHNICAL MANAGER

Can you lead the technical organization towards results?

We offer you the role as technical manager for areas that consists of planning, managing and improving the operation of our production facility in Åstorp.

You will be responsible for a production technical team of 4 highly skilled technicians, a maintenance and property department of approx. 30 people, of which 3 are direct reports.

As Technical Manager, you naturally take the lead of the technical organization and are responsible for ensuring that the department is efficient, committed, maintains high quality, the right production standard and offers maximum safety to our employees.

Furthermore you are responsible for technical availability of machines and equipment, responsible for maintenance work and work systematically with OEE-improving activities. You participate in the daily management where you together with your own organization and in close cooperation with the production organization, secure operation and production goals and setting.

Areas of responsibilty….

• Organize and carry out preventive maintenance and continuous improvements within your areas
• Work actively with optimization and development of our business, in accordance with the company's vision and strategy,
• Be up-to-date regarding technical developments and actively work to interpret the factory's needs in order to be at the forefront
• Act as a setter and dare to challenge both suppliers and internal stakeholders

• Set goals, support employees, follow up and ensure a goal-directed way of working

• Participate in morning meeting/handover and work together with other departments, mainly production
• Secure the department's KPIs and deliver against agreed targets
• Help develop an investment plan for technical development of the business within automization etc…
• Responsible for project management of investment projects and involvement in CapEx.
• Responsible for developing our maintenance methodology and procedures
• Be responsible for ensuring that routines are followed
• Be responsible for ensuring that routines for work environment and safety are followed

To succeed in this role you will need…

• Documented experience as a manager, at least 5 years within technical fields, demonstrating solid and selfdriven results within technical department, organization etc..
• Experience from manufacturing industry, particularly from woodwork will be highly valued
• You have good knowledge of production, production technology, EHS and solid understanding of the LEAN concept
• You have experience in leading major investment projects with a focus on quality, cost and time
• Relevant technical education, preferably university education
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
