Payroll Specialist – Sweden
Are you passionate about payroll accuracy, compliance, and delivering great employee experiences? We’re looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our HR team in Sweden. In this role, you’ll take ownership of payroll and benefits processing for our Swedish employees, ensuring everything runs smoothly, on time, and in line with local legislation.
About the role
You’ll work closely with HR, Finance, and external payroll providers, and be a trusted partner to managers and employees when it comes to pay-related matters.
- You will manage end-to-end monthly payroll processes in collaboration with our external provider.
- Ensure accurate receipt of information from HR systems (People Point, ProWFM) and processing through payroll – including new hires, leavers, bonuses, absences, and statutory payments.
- Handle employee queries and liaise with authorities on social security, tax, and pension matters.
- Support audits and compliance activities, including SOX controls.
- Stay up to date with Swedish payroll legislation and collective bargaining agreements.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and drive efficiency.
Who are you?
We believe you have:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a high-volume or production environment.
- Solid understanding of Swedish employment law, tax regulations, and social security systems.
- Experience working with payroll systems – SAP HR is a plus.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data imports/exports).
- Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English, written and spoken.
- A structured, detail-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
