Role Summary and Purpose

 

In the role of Manufacturing Engineer, your main task is to be a support function to our production in Åstorp.

 

The role is primarily focusing on developing the production / processes together with those responsible for the production and terminal. The area of operation consists of the entire site's technical facilities.

 

This exciting role in our our production has project responsibility for improvement and investment projects, aswell responsibility for initiating efficient and quality-assured manufacturing methods.

The holder of this position needs to have interest and experience in production flows and continuous improvements. The responsibility includes performing the tasks in an optimal way, considering the requirements of the business, protection, and environment as well as finances.

 

The position offers and requires the ability to anchor, develop and change, which requires that you are social, communicative, structured with a habit of documenting and that you are stimulated by problem solving.

 

Key responsibilities in your role

  • Initiate and in collaboration with relevant departments operate and develop production technology systems.
  • Be project manager and participate in projects.
  • Develop production flows, manufacturing methods and machinery.
  • Run various improvement works related to production and terminal.
  • Contact person when hiring external help.
  • Quality work and root cause investigations.
  • Issue and update work instructions.
  • Produce data for calculations, productivity calculations and provide input to Master data regarding BOM in business systems (operation times, material consumption, scraps, etc.)
  • Participate in and drive various improvement projects and other business development.
  • Support the management in its supervision that the work is carried out in accordance with current regulations, regarding occupational safety and the environment.
  • Support purchasing when introducing/evaluating new suppliers.

Your experiences

  • You have experience in production, production technology and understanding of the LEAN concept.
  • Project management. You have experience in leading projects with a focus on quality, cost and time.
  • Experience from manufacturing industry, preferably woodworking.
  • Experience in making updates in factory layout with 2D CAD programs.
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office package, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with ERP systems

 

Educational background

  • University education with a focus on technology or equivalent knowledge through practical experience from a similar role.
  • Post-secondary engineering education 2 -5 years and/or equivalent qualified experience.

 

Language Skills

  • Good understanding of Scandinavian languages.
  • Solid knowledge of English in both writing and oral
